Berry picking with the bears reminds me of my favorite childhood picture book, “Blueberries for Sal” by Robert McCloskey. While I was a librarian I read this each year to my story time friends.

It is good you came to California the week you did. It was 106 in Yosemite yesterday & will be 93 in Lake Tahoe today. That is very warm for there! And we have a big fire in Placerville. We have your Texas heat wave now. 114 here in Fair Oaks yesterday! 10-14 days over 100. Depends on what app you look at it. Bottom line-Just. Too. Hot!

WOW embossing powder Is amazing.. comes in a hundred colors😂 seriously!! Worth looking up, really unusual combinations. It has some kind of anti-static product in it so don’t repackage.

I came within 3 feet of a bear once. I was leaving a cabin in the woods at night and was just about to step down the first step when I saw white eyes looking at me. A bear was either standing at the bottom of the steps or on all fours on one of the steps. His eyes were level with mine and I could have reached out and touched him, he was that close! I did a fast retreat into the cabin and looked out the window to be sure I saw what I thought I saw. Sure enough, there was the bear. I watched him go down the steps and wander away. I had to go outside and get in my car. It was quite scary as I did not know if he was just around the corner or not. That was definitely a first for me! 🐻
