Thank you for your reply. I am assuming that the "home page" is kinda like a menu? Meaning I can reach either my profile or my business page from there and I have access to the news feed. Does that sound right? I am getting a feel for things as I work with both my profile and my business page. I am kinda using the profile page as an extension of my business page but posting lighter things as opposed to more heady stuff such as stats and how to tutorials.

I am new to Facebook. I enjoyed you video on how to use it. The problem I’m had was I was also trying it on my iPhone while watching it on my iPad. It would be nice if there was a table of contents format. Or many smaller videos so that I could easily review sections while I actually trying to better understand the elements Facebook. This video is a great overview of Facebook and later when I have a better grasp of Facebook , then your video would be a great review to me.

At 8:44 you're searching for friends. You clicked "Find Friends" at the top. When I click that I don't see what you see. You get "People you may know" on the left of the screen. I get that part. On the right, you also get "Add Personal Contacts" and "Search for friends". I don't get either of those. Things have changed since you made the video so how do I see what you're seeing? Than you for your tutorial. So helpful. I am new to Facebook. I am a bit bewildered about the differences between the home page, the profile page and my business page. Why so many pages? I initially signed up for Facebook for the business page. Now I'm having to sort out all these other pages.

Cynthia M unfortunately you can’t set up a Facebook business page without having a personal profile page too! If you’re only on Facebook for business then you can probably ignore your Home feed altogether, that just shows you the activity from your friends, pages you follow and the groups you’re in.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, and yes - Facebook has good things about it. Unfortunately they are mining every last tidbit about your personal life and both selling it and preserving it for the whole world - and in particular, the constabulary - to use at ANY point in the future. I've considered it for years, but I just can't tolerate the lack of privacy. If there are ways to preserve that, I might consider it again. Anyway, nice video.

Great video. Got one question if you could help. In my privacy settings, Who Can See Your Future Posts is set to Friends. However, I have just joined a couple of Private Groups. Will my comments to those groups show up in the group feeds or do I have to change my posts settings to Public? Cheers

Your posts from private groups may appear in the feed of other members of that private group - but they won't be seen by anyone who is NOT a member.

Do you have an updated video? My Facebook looks nothing like your Facebook. Obviously they've updated it and, as is always the case, it's less user friendly. Mine doesn't have a blue bar across the top and doesn't have a Find Friends menu, for example.

Hi Di, my computer just went thru an update a few days ago. I used to be able to see which of my friends were on Facebook at that very moment when I would log into Facebook. The list of friends with a dot next to their name was on the right side. After this update, this feature has disappeared on the right side of the screen. How can I get it back?

Got fed up at 13 minutes in. I've just joined up and can see posts for a local dance club with times on (eg 18mins) but don't understand what this time means. Click on it and you're none the wiser and you're dumped off Facebook when you press the back arrow. Also re the 'posts' some have dates and some don't and the dates that are shown are not chronological. This is the detail a beginners guide should address, not 'how to shop'.

Hi Chris Here's some answers: How to create a group - facebook.com/help/167970719931213 - you can change the privacy setting after you create it too A post is a single update (text/video/photo/link) on a Facebook profile or page. A Facebook profile is for an individual person. A Facebook page is for a brand, celebrity, etc. You can create your own Facebook page and then use that identity to post in your group (eg. I'm Di Coke on Facebook, but I can also post as my Super Lucky page in my Lucky Learners group! Your Facebook profile should always be your real name. I suggest you set up a page with the identity of your project and post on that!

Esther Folarin yes, you can use a Facebook account without adding any friends at all. When you add friends, you can hide your friends list on your Profile by changing its privacy: by default it’s Public but you can set to ‘Only Me’. If people visit your profile, they won’t see who your friends are but they may see that you share mutual friends.
