I love to create a few backgrounds at one time in different sizes sketchbooks and art journals. This allows me to play with color, line, and experiment with different art supplies, and tools.

Wow, this is one of my favorite You tubes of all time: great instruction, very light and fun: not too fast and not too slow. I learned about color, gesso, some tools, some color theory. I am inspired for sure!! Many thanks. I wonder if I can use a small rubber spatula rather than a color shaper....

Nice! This looks like something I'd like to do to loosen up, especially when I'm afraid of making mistakes. I'd like to see what you do on top of this, if you add more things. I also never thought of mixing gesso and watercolors together...gotta play with my supplies too. 😁

Love this! Thank you for sharing your take on backgrounds....I love to do something similar but have never tried using the color shaper to shove the gesso/watercolor around. Will definitely try this out as I love the extra unexpected results! I'm sure you've been asked many times before, but where did you source your beautiful ceramic palette? Thank you Renee!
