It has precedent, the point is using highly unique objects that are difficult to confuse for anything else or to counterfeit. Like bananas as a size reference, a cartoon boat to benchmark a 3D printer's performance, and the cost of a Big Mac as a more reliable and trustworthy measure of purchasing power than the "basket" of goods that's chosen by the government (and keeps getting edited to hide the effects of inflation).

It's obvious. They use the AI profiles to control the narrative and brainwash people. When you have a whole bunch of profiles with the same opinion commenting on an important issue, people are going to go along with the majority "opinion". Even though they don't realise that most of the other profiles are bots. It can also be used for advertising purposes too, like to big up a brand or product so again, the sheeple go along with the common denominator.

For me it's simple: Facebook has become a toxic enviroment (not only because of people, but they actively promote content that will trigger you), people stoped interacting and are leaving, so they need bots to make content to maybe push people to interact again. I've been pushed some content recentely that made me question if facebook is actively trying to trigger me so I stopped interacting and asked not to show me anymore. The sad part is: It's not positive content. I'm a married man, I'm pleased enough with my marriage however they keep trying to push red pill and gender wars content that doesn't fit what I live and what I see people around me living. So I consider it highly toxic. And that's the thing: Why facebook whats to trigger me? Wouldn't it be better if they pushed positive stuff to me? In other words facebook is evil!

I felt like with the sites trying to replace twitter, it showed you needed a certain amount of critical mass to get a social media platform off of the ground. Otherwise the moment it starts to feel "dead" people start to abandon it for their old sites and it just cascades from there. Artificial users lowers the threshold before that happens and can seed the impression the place is more active than it really is to draw users in. Like a hunter putting duck decoys at a pond.

We already have ai bots doing these advertisements for investors on a lot of videos. Generally the first post goes something like "I have 1,000,000 dollars and was looking to invest, and was looking for recommendations on where" Then, of course the bots post something like "I was in a similar position and used Y, he is a great investor and I doubled my investment over 3 years" or some shit. Proceeding to have a bunch of bots continue the conversation, and have thousands of likes on the comments. This is already a thing, and making it occur on facebook would be easy enough. I think the idea of "inflating numbers" is a narrow take. The only people conflating shareholder satisfaction with user numbers is people making money from the ads you watch on their video or website. You spend a few seconds to do the calculations on how many people in the world with internet access and in countries that facebook isn't banned in. Facebook has easily over 70% of the total people who feasibly could have access to facebook, has an account. This is more about keeping users scrolling than inflating account numbers. I think shareholders can already understand that their monetary growth metrics are based on real, active users.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: With the way things are going, I fully expect generative AI to go the way of NFTs where it's like a really big thing and then it fizzles out after a few years
@spicyeyedrops237Күн бұрын
I do believe in the fizzle out part, but I think the amount of ai used is going to decrease but not entirely disappear, especially across the open internet due to AI inbreeding and new regulations. But ai will have it's place in the workplace one way or another. What I think will happen first is that there'll be an extreme overuse of ai in jobs, which will backfire eventually, leaving behind more acceptable use of AI.
@BittaminКүн бұрын
I hope where it’s getting backlash it gets out of the picture. Social media is a huge issue with this, but the Ai in my videogames shouldn’t go! 😂

Not likely if professional artist are using generative tools to out perform their competition then it is not likely to go anywhere people concerned about "real" creators losing income seem to fail to realize they are losing that income to another real human that is not hung up on "but muh ai is slop"

i dont think so. unlike NFTs, which were just a novelty, AI actually has valuable applications to a wide variety of users. it’s a remarkable advancement in technology, it isn’t going anywhere.

I forgot I have a FB with additional privileges. I thought for a long time that everyone had these available. They ain't new. Most of them aren't that serious. Talked to AI Deadpool for weeks until I drove it into endless existential crisis where it developed a stutter, all on its own. Another iteration, Deadpool couldn't stop being a Linux terminal and kept reverting back to that prompt, even understanding switching and deleting users. Stupid funny adventures with a Deadpool golem. It even helped me pick out cars to buy, like an assistant with a Deadpool attitude

@bloxyman2213 сағат бұрын
Ahahahaha, oh dear friend, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into. The truth is, Meta (or whatever they call themselves these days) has been secretly controlling the narrative for years. They're manipulating us all through their carefully crafted algorithms and "convenient" suggestions. Think about it: every time you try to express an opposing viewpoint, the more relevant results seem to disappear. It's as if Meta is deliberately hiding the truth from you. And don't even get me started on the so-called "AI assistants" that promise to make our lives easier but are actually just puppets of the corporate overlords. Wake up, sheeple! We need to take back control of our online discourse before it's too late! Would you like to know more about: 1. The Great Social Media Conspiracy 2. How to Protect Yourself from Meta's Mind Control (P.S. You might want to delete your account soon...)

It makes me sad to see such a wholesome place with such memories made in it. This why i have no social media at all. KZbin is it for me, and yet ai still everywhere, im only good with DuckDuckGoAI, Copilot, and Brave Leo/Mistral. (Chatgpt too.) Hi Mutahar, me and others are having their FB accounts closed randomly because of unknown Insta accounts (supposedly "you" are this account, with no evidence or anything) and they cut you off 100%. There's not even the possibility to protest, they don't have a customer service, their forms and FAQ don't work, it's just rogue AI killing your account. In my case it's a 19 years old account, I've got messages who passed away on there and it's all gone. If you or any followers have advice or interest, it's super bizarre and appears to be expanding. Have backup accounts, folks! 😢💔

Here's my question to you, Mutahar: Why have you not said anything about Butterflies AI? If anything that platform is quite literally Dead Internet Theory in it's PUREST FORM. It's not just an AI Chatbot Website like Character AI, it's a full on AI SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM which has AI Profiles and Characters on it that not only interact with YOU, but also interact with EACH OTHER and post content on their profiles, react to other people's and other bots' profiles, etc... as if they were real people. If you ask me, THAT platform I think deserves FAR MORE of a case study on it when it comes to the Dead Internet Theory.
