Hey mate just finished doing up my own 4x4. I recommend raptor coating the whole car, gives it a tough look for under $500 and all you need is an air compressor and sanding it obviously. I did a closed door spray as I didn’t see the need to do all the inside trims. Mine came out mint. Other ideas would be to put a 12v setup in the back for camping with a dual battery, fridge, draws etc. I’d recommend some kings products (stay away from their mppt solar controller tho) and then of course anaconda and bcf products. No need to go more expensive than those brands Good luck mate!

raptor is great for unbody/ute trays. personally i think it makes the car look cheap and tacky when used to spray body panels. even if the paint is beyond fked i wouldnt.

When I bought my 89 gq shorty it had nails lost every where through it and the was a packet of 22 rounds and an old Nokia 3310 list under the seat. If your going to use it as a tow rig get the cooling system flushed and swap out the clutch fan. They are the best off road but they are shit for towing

with it not starting it probably like my old one fuel was getting to the carby before i fixed all the issues i use to prime the carby before starting it by giving the pedal a few pumps, then i fixed the issues by doing a new pump new filter and new mechanical pump and carby clean

Got my GQ with 180000/200000kms on it from an old man, good service history and everything in top nick except roof which was quite rusty for $4000 in an auction which cost me $250 of rolled metal and other materials to fix.
