It's debatable The thing is, FPX going 4th was just the team not performing and nothing more than that, it's not like C9 or RGE even needed a miracle level of performance FPX just wasn't there, like many previous "strong" teams do from time to time(For example TSM 0-6 or SSG 2018), it happens But for EDG this is their worlds run so far: One of the favorites to win the whole thing -> 3-0 first week -> 1-2 second week ended 2nd seed -> 3-2 vs a not in form RNG and barely advancing -> 3-2 vs Geng in an extremely bad looking match for both teams Now what they are going against next is the actual best team in the world atm, with how they've looked so far 1 week is not enough to change the team so that they'd be able to win this match, therefore if they win it's most likely some inside drama or something like that going on that breaks damwon apart or they go full troll mode or something, I can't see it going down any other way So to compare, how I see it is: Damwon won last 3 lck splits, last year worlds, 3-2 MSI finals in what is probably their weakest form ever seen, and is now looking even better than how they looked when they won those last splits or when they went 3-2 in msi finals FPX meanwhile lost LPL when they were favored by everyone to win, a lot even predicted 3-0 for them, and they haven't won a split in a long time either Considering the time gap between LPL finals and worlds group stage is much bigger than between worlds semi finals and finals, the chances for FPX to crumble due to inside issues or performance issues is way bigger than damwon to crumble in 1 week

GOAT should be determined by the relative level of that era, not by the absolute comparison between the years. Otherwise, it would put unfair weight on the future players. Any player who comes in the future (when the League gets 'more perfected') and wins a solid 1-2 World Championships can claim that they are the new-GOAT. Problem with Dandy is that despite his supremacy in season 4, he was never consistent - he fell behind after season 4 - failing to prove that he was able to make adjustment throughout different meta. Canyon, on the other hand, not only was he the MVP of Damwon in 2020 but also he was consistent for many years, still being the number 1 pick within his team throughout 2021. This is why, to consider the balance between the 'relative supremacy in a single season' and 'adaptation capacity between seasons', we look at the 'number of trophies' to tell who is the current GOAT. And not surprisingly, Faker has been the GOAT for near a decade based on this reasonable calculation. People have to understand that the reason League got to 'this level' of play today is due to the years of cumulative experience from competition. Canyon would NOT be Canyon of today if 10 years of League competition did not exist. Without Dandy, Bengi, Ambition, Ning, or Tian, there would not be a Canyon. Without Faker, Pawn, Crown, Rookie, Doinb, there would not be a Showmaker. People tend to make this huge mistake in the assumption that the world champion of this year would easily claim previous world championships if he were born several years earlier. This is like assuming that today's nobel prize winning physicist would easily discover the Theory of Relativity if he were born before Albert Einstein. We know that this is not true, considering that the physicist was able to achieve nobel prize specifically due to the discovery of the theory made by Albert Einstein. There is no guarantee that he would be able to make the discovery in the past. This is why the competition level of different seasons in LOL should be evaluated on a roughly equal footing, unless there is a huge gap in the number of participants. For instance, season 1 Worlds was technically the competition between NA and EU, so many say that season 1 Worlds wasn't 'really' Worlds. But LOL got pretty big since season 2 - it became global event with more than tens of millions of people already playing the game. There is a reason why Faker is the GOAT - and there is a chance that no one will ever replace him in near future, if not at all. He outclassed everyone else during his prime age and he was consistent throughout many years. He may not be the best now, but he is still relevant to being the world champion as one of the top 4 in the World. Faker is currently 25 years old but still manages to pull off great plays against DK. (only time Showmaker played noticeably better in semifinal was during the game 4 where DK camped mid hard to feed Showmaker. In the game 1,2, and 3 of T1 vs DK, Faker got the upperhand over Showmaker in map plays and influence) Faker is the one who united his team under his strategy and shotcalls and brought T1 to Worlds semifinals from being 8th place during the regular summer season. Showmaker is not even close to GOAT consideration. Despite being supported by Canyon, he hasn't proven that he is a significant 'outlier'. No doubt that he is an excellent and well-rounded midlaner... but does he relatively outclass the modern day midlaner just like Faker did during his prime time? Not even close. Even if he can win 2 World championship in the future, that would still not put him in the near GOAT level.

Yeah, really well constructed point, I can't help but agree. One thing which throws a spanner in the works is that LoL has been going a fair while now, and very few fans have watched it all since season 2. This has two ramifications; 1) the GOAT discussion is gated. You need to have actually watched (or be aware of in great detail) all competitive League since Season 2/3 to be able to take part in earnestness and have a reliable take. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, makes sense that you can't pick out the greatest of ALL TIME if you're not aware of ALL of it. 2) since most fans haven't watched since Season 2/3, people have joined along the way (I'm sure there's been a poll like that on the reddit, "what Season did you start watching competitive League?"). And a lot of people are going to form opinions about who they think think the GOAT is from their limited knowledge. This is going to lead to some recency bias in the newer viewer, and is going to fragment the community concensus.

When I think of G2 Perkz, I think of the guy that got them out of Challenger and into the World Final or winning MSI. TSM was already an established brand and sort of competed at Worlds. All Bjergsen really did was getting them out of groups once. G2 meanwhile was Ocelotes wet dream to get back at SK Gaming, after they cut him. He failed to realize this dream as a player. He needed Perkz to make it. So it is possible, that G2 without Perkz would be playing in EU Masters instead of worlds.

All I am saying is: All those other "pieces", that made G2 great, wouldn't even consider going there, if it wasn't for Perkz. He was literally the captivating presence, that got all the others there. So yes, if you only consider "the Golden Age", and ignore how much heavy lifting he had to do, in order to get to that Golden Age, Perkz leaving G2 is not such a huge thing. But you ignore the first 3 years he spent on that franchise. G2 would have never gotten close to building that "Golden Age Roster", if it wasn't for Perkz. Now, you can argue that Perkz was much better at poaching and at working things out on the Rift, than Bjergsen was... Or to put it bluntly: Would G2 ever have made it in to the LCS, if Perkz stayed with Millenium in May 2015? SKT ROFLstomped Royal Club at 2013 worlds; SSW stomped SHR at 2014 worlds ; SSG kinda stomped SKT (I think only game 3 was close) at 2017 worlds; Then we had FNC vs. IG and FPX vs. G2. I don't think that DWG vs. SN wasn't much of a stomping, DWG had control of the series since the beginning, but wasn't that stomp. I don't think its a right comparison at all. FPX being a 2019 worlds winner means absolutely nothing when comparing it across 2 seasons later. It's always possible for a team to choke internationally bc of many factors (injuries, bad read on meta, choking) as its been proven many times in the past. Considering FPX was considered stronger than EDG throughout all of spring and summer, even heading into worlds despite losing 3-0 in summer finals, for EDG (a team that is considered to be on par with fpx) to beat last years winner and the tournament favourites, is actually more of a feat than FPX not making it out of groups. EDG performed worse than T1 in groups, and struggled to win a bo5 against GenG which is way weaker than T1 and Damwon, which further adds on to how much more impossible it is to happen since T1 managed to almost win the series against Damwon.

I stoped when someone typed me no family members and i will end up on a fukin wheel chair. For sure i am not the only one who got those messages. I hope this prison will became a game like before or not like before. In the game there are weird rooms with people hating woman, woman hating man wow. From an enjoyable game from a fukin money machine and sad people who are growing into the ground. You can feel enjoyment only if you train your mind hard and it is so rare. The time of joy is seconds then you hop on the other game with mute all and bum someone runs it down with a big thumbs up :D. This game is mostly toxic with empty people who takes your soul in such a short time. And if you are not complete as a human with someone who can help you improving and peaking you will end up peaking few days and then being stuck for few moths. I loved this game for Diversity but now if you are a support main you almost always build the same items. Expect boots. Nothing is same but it feels like everything is always same plus you have few champions what are actually good and the other 60 70 champions are molding there. The profesional games are becoming the same when everybody picks the same Champion over and over. Nothing is new half of champions are molding there no item diversity almost. If you are a good player is so much less rewarding to you. Profesional gamers are becoming more bitter and bitter and it feels like no matter how do you play you just end the game and pop on the other one like a circle of slowly dying death. Good luck
