I hope, in many years, people realize the genius and pure heart of this man.

ive played mark for a bunch of people in my life. some who respond and some just dont get it. he is such an honest songwriter that some people i guess cant understand it. but he is a real treasure for those who do. from screaming trees and beyond.

He sure is. If you know, you know. It's a level of understanding some can't reach. He digs deep in my core and helps me pull out those emotions and for that, I'm grateful.

Mark is one of my favorites singers ever. I heard the audiobook of his life story "Sing Backwards and weep" and really saw a person I can relate, R.I.P. Mark 😢

Mark Lanegan reads the entire canon of great American literature on audiobook. I'm in on that.

I love what Mark said about not wanting to know the meaning to a song, that its meaning is what you make it to be and that is part of the beauty. Yes, this 1000%, so many times you hear a song and it makes you feel a certain way, that is the meaning for you, so you don't need the artists meaning, that is the beauty of the song. Just a great way of saying it, you can see Mark light up talking about it that it meant somethi8ng to him. Love how Mark said he makes songs for those who want to find the meaning in them, I wish he was around now to know his songs have more meaning that most. I listen to his work and it speaks to me and it would cool to say hey man, your songs, your words, they really open my mind and doors into another place, so thanks for allowing us that journey.

cool- thanks! so true, Lanegan's music isn't for everybody- but some people listen closely or feel it deeply. gotta say, before i heard him sing- accidentally in 2005 w qotsa- i walked around for about 3 years listening to find music i wanted to listen to. alotta stuff: nope, that's not it. when i heard him sing in 2005- that's it, he's singing about things i want to hear about- it resounds. probably not a week has gone by since 2005 that i havent listened to at least one of his songs

I can see the Kurt Russel thing, I was thinking Val Kilmer. Mark often reminds you of Jim Morrison live, and of course Val did a good Jim, maybe that's why.

Weird; after seeing Mark @ O2 in Glasgow (9.3.12), I commented that he should record something with Neil Young - he didn't hear me though since I was in the crowd. :o/
