In terms of Mark's openness, this is one of my favorite interviews he's ever done. I wish the interviewer had asked better questions overall than "What was the first...?" etc. but Mark elaborated more than he usually does, which was great to see since he generally doesn't care for interviews. Loved hearing more of his thought processes and songwriting approach.

There was an interview he did after a live performance on a French show. It was short but very cool. The performance was good also. I’ll try to find the link.

Being a huge fan of Mark, it must be the third time I ever see him laughing or being so "patient" during an interview!!!

this is the most he has ever spoken I think. I've seen him like 7 times and he never says anything. I like it.

Thanks...Fantastic interview, I was lucky enough to meet Mark when he played Dublin earlier this year. He has a amazing vibe and was very kind and listened to me ramble on like a dumbstruck teenager. It was one of the best moments of my life. It amazes me when I talk to people about music and they don't know anything about him. I hope we hear lots more music from Mark in the next few years. Peace.

I love Mark Lanegan, such a joy to listen to his perspective on things in these interviews. I understand why he doesn't dwell on his past...but, man what I would give to see the Screaming Trees back on stage again. The music they made (especially their last few albums as Mark says) was timeless. All of his side projects and solo albums have been brilliant as well, Blues Funeral is on the top of the list if I had to pick a favorite...along with Bubblegum.

There would be no Nirvana without the Trees, They all recorded with Steve Fisk Sam Albright in Ellensburg. Ellensburg was and is a great artist community every one played there. I know I was there. I did the invisible lantern cover.

Dust to my mind was probably the best rock n roll album of the 90's. Interesting that he mentions the Velvet Underground, not so many people listened to their self titled album but it still remains such a strong influence, I seen the Mark Lanegan band a year or two ago in Belfast and they blew me away. Great interview.

Saw parts of this in another club. Again, what a fucking shame that he seems so anti his old Trees records. He says they were uncomfortable for him but he sounds great on them. Possibly he has a chipmunk thing going on Other Worlds, but the rest... I like his honesty but at the same time he's being quite mysterious about it. Not really explaning his beef with them fine, and refused to answer on the things he learned to never do again.

That was really interesting when Mark said he does not look back. I know he would not talk more but man I would love to hear why. You could see him not wanting to go there and that really makes me curious, wish he would have said more but its weird an artist does not care to see his previous work again, very strange to me anyway.

And who are you? Nobody outside of your disappointed family will ever know. I'll bet you're too perfect to have any flaws to give meaning to your life, and if you did have flaws, they'd be pitiful and pointless. Looking you up now, I'm sure I'll find absolutely nothing.
