This is one of those collaborations where'd I'd be equally happy listening to a new album three years from now or twelve years from now. I get the impression that Phoebe Bridgers must be a very generous collaborator. She's really brought out/been present for the best aspects of a solid range of songwriting partners.

The craziest part of this video is that Coner writes the melodies first!? And it informs the lyrics? 🤯 I for sure thought he writes poems and the music is almost an afterthought, it’s the opposite and maybe that’s why he’s so good

I think most songwriters do that. Off the top of my head, John Darnielle, Sufjan Stevens, Joanna Newsom, and Julia Holter all write melodies first

The parallels to the movie "A Star Is Born" are uncanny. You have an older male artist who teams up with a much younger female, collaborates & goes on tour with her. He's depressed & has a plethora of issues. She's an up and coming artist who continually gets more popular & out shines him. The only piece missing is that they aren't dating.

Phoebe keeps looking to Conor after she gets asked a question, her typical initial response to a question is *smiles* I don’t know uhmmm *stares at conor* then starts answering what she thinks Conor would want her to say, and then she looks back at Conor to check and see if he is giving her any positive reinforcement with his body language (which, spoiler alert, he never does) lol while phoebe is answering a question Conor looks like he’s completely checked out, staring at the same place, no racial movement or head nods or anything it’s hilarious

it is ironic that we have found a way to mobilize the support of everyday working class people to fund decent and sound political candidates to support grass roots organizations and to mobilize communities to be helpful and now our point of contention is that we humans are feeling so good about that , that its self congratulatory. hahahhahaaa. Posting pictures at a MLK march or a benefit for Standing Rock is considered as silly as too many selfies. Too many reflections on ones self ones own life ones own work. It is interesting when artists feel this because we are in the business of communicating but also the business of self. In my experience in the early days of socal media the people who were offended by activists were apathetic people who needed a scape goat. Is it the oppositte now? I wonder

What the hell is she talking about? That's a really simple line and he doesn't do anything on social media has set up charity concerts. Her voice is pretty but I don't think she knows what a metaphor is. Or listened to any Bright Eyes songs really. She said her favorite song is "bad blood" and I guarantee you she only took that because the album title is called Noise Floor: Rarities. A lot of people won't know it. The record is awesome too. Her voice really is pretty but it pretty but she's not talented enough to be playing with Conor Oberst. I hope he does a catch and release with this one.
@friendofthedevil2 жыл бұрын
lol quite the conspiracy theory about why she'd say she like the song Bad Blood. I'm sure she absolutely went reading the song lists of albums she hasn't "listened to really" just so she could name a rarity as a fave song. 🙄 You can just say you aren't a fan lol it doesn't need to come in the form of accusing the musician of being... a poser or something? Anyway, thanks for mentioning Bad Blood, haven't listened to that in years and it's a good one!

i'm a die hard Conor Oberst and Bright Eyes fan but i COMPLETELY agree that her comparing him to Neil Young and Joni Mitchell was painfully inaccurate and just soooo off base.... she lost me immediately when she said "he sounds similar to" because Conor has always had more of his own sound and wasn't really copying anyone..... Phoebe just doesn't get it and the way she answers these questions makes that glaringly evident
