Lovely relaxed interview. We've met John a few times. He's such a lovely guy.

John, love your music but how can you say nothing you created with The Czars was worthwhile? How can songs like Val, Drug, Goodbye and so many be worthless to you? I guess I can understand not getting along, but to dismiss all that work just is so wrong when it's given people so much joy. I hope you can embrace all your songs oneday. I do love your new CD, I saw you in Austin and you were nice. I even got my CD signed. I just wish bitterness would end.

@ejdneedab I see your point. For the record, I'm French, and while I think we are the worst when it comes to learning and speaking foreign languages, I'm always amazed to see how other European countries have succeeded where we failed. Especially Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, and the whole Scandinavia. And then there's USA, where I live now, and where no foreign language is taught in school before 15. A long way to go...

As an English man who visited France for holidays for years as a child I can assure you that we English surpass you as failures at learning other languages

It doesn’t compare because the average French person studies English for at least 7 years, for hours every week. That can’t be said of Brits/Americans with French.

@turnover7 i find it hard to believe that spanish isn't taught as a second language from a very early age, at least in many places in the united states. in canada we take french since grade 1 i think, and there are many elementary schools that offer french immersion programs (and i live nowhere near quebec). i realize that spanish isn't an official second language of the united states but it obviously permeates society in almost every part of the united states

@turnover7 Sure thing, he speaks another language, I'll give him that. But as a fellow Dutchman, I'm embarrassed. A lot of people here speak better English than he does, so it stands out when someone has an accent as huge as his.

@ejdneedab Who cares about his accent? This guy speaks another language, give him that. He probably speaks another foreign language on top of English. He speaks at least one foreign language, that's more than most American people do.

Bollocks. Gays are protected by law there. They just are not allowed to try to groom children. Is that what you wish to do? What does that make you?
