The Pitkin family at 14:53 was very interesting. The father and son both died Oct. 4 1971 and the other son died 5 days later. Would like to hear the story behind that one.

I just did some research on it. It appears that they passed away from one of the two gas explosions that took place on Oct 4, 1971in North Richland TX. Apparently these incidents are pretty common in that area.

I just tried to Google it. In 1982, when I was in high school, my cousin's 3 baby girls burned in a house fire. I figured something similar. Thanks for the info, very sad.

@@lisaknox4257 That's really sad. A few comments up it mentions a gas explosion that did happen in Texas on that date. That would seem the most likely scenario

Found this comment that someone had left on Bert J Pitkin's Find A Grave. His 2 sons were only 1 and 2. Very sad. Found dead in his home during a fire apparently caused by an explosion. His wife had remarried in 1973 but died in 1982.

In about 2003 my late husband and I restored 22 statues along with altars and miscellaneous at St. Patrick's cathedral in Ft. Worth. We were staying in a newer hotel though the name escapes me. It was at the base of some hills. Anyhoo there was a very small fenced off plot in the middle of the parking lot with 3 or 4 graves. Turns out the entire hillside at one time had been covered with graves that had been lost or destroyed over the years. It was very odd but interesting at the same time. Thanks for the upload!

I find peace in a graveyard. Whenever I visit one and see a dilapidated or broken head stone, I will do my best to make it presentable. Doesn’t matter who it is. Everyone is the same in life and in death to me.

You are ten minutes away from me ! I have several family members buried there. You should do a Greenwood part II. A famous stunt pilot is buried there. And a very tragic shooting of Fort Worth police officer Hank Nava in 2005 is buried at that Mausoleum. So many other famous people. Including a tree that goes back to the 1700s. Deeper into the cemetery you have massive headstones. By the way Van Cliburn won a International Piano competition in Moscow in 1958. Not a easy thing to do during the cold war. And he played in the White House for President Reagan for Soviet Chairman Gorbachev in 1987 State dinner. Gorbachev was very happy when Cliburn played "Moscow nights"

I had read a study many years ago that showed when couples have been married a very long time, the surviving spouse typically doesn't live more than 3 years. There are exceptions but if you watch obits and read grave markers, you'll find this is very often true.

If you weren’t doing this I would have never known. I use to visit graves from time to time and say a prayer, leave flowers to as any people who were buried. During Christmas I try to visit my buddy Bill Hurst Sr. I’ve missed him so much, we had one hell of a ride growing up.I sometimes play some songs for him and other if I’m able. I’ll take drum and a friend of mine will take his piano and we will play a couple songs for them.thank you Lamont for all you do.✌🏻👍🏻❤️
