Faces of Rome (GH5 4K + HELIOS-44 Anamorphic)

A short travel film I shot while on vacation in Rome, Italy.
Shot in 4K 60fps on the Panasonic GH5 with a DIY Anamorphic filter on the lens. Color graded in DaVinci Resolve, film grain added in post.

Hey, I just got myself this lens for my GH5. I'm using this lens with the Viltrox EF adapter since I found this lens with the EF mount. When I turn my camera on I am hit with a blank screen then a "lens attachment failed" after a few seconds. So gutted..any help?

Hello there Juhani, I love you artwork with the Helios, anyway I need to know how do you mount the lens with the GH series?

Thanks Nik. I mount the lens to my GH5 through a M42->EF adapter which I then adapt to M43 with a EF Metabones Speedbooster. So basically LENS->M42 into EF adapter->EF Metabones Speedbooster->GH5.

@@NikitaGarets The speedbooster does give you more field of view but other than that the look doesn't really change. I'd definitely recommend getting one if you're going to adapt this lens on a M43 camera.

Hey Juhani! I absolutely love your videos.. I have an important question.. I recently bought a helios 44-4m , but when I attach it to my camera through the adapter --> speedbooster --> body combo, it comes out as ultra shaky ? Like the IBIS doesnt seem to be working all of a sudden... I've turned the ibis off but id really like to have some sort of stabilization... My question is if the shots youre using right now had IBIS turned on or off?

I have my IBIS on. Make sure you input the right focal length in the settings for it to function properly. Since the lens doesnt have any electronics in it you have to tell the camera manually what the focal length is.

@@JuhaniVuorisalo yeah so the IBIS is on but I didn't get the prompt to input the focal length at the beginning... which is weird. I tried to manually set it in the menus but it's greyed out. I suspect it's because the m24 to Canon adapter is faulty and is not properly communicating the correct focal length to the ibis. :(
