Do not forget, 1st Mississippi Rifles, Mexican War. Commander Jeff Davis. Although not Civil War.
@unbreakable76332 ай бұрын
@@michaelmurphy4387 Quite aware of Davis's Mexican War service. His part in one of the battles was critical to the outcome. I believe it was at Cerro Gordo. Davis was an interesting man. He is the primary founder of the Smithsonian Institution but you wouldn't know it from the Smithsonian today. He modernized the American Army as Secretary of War before the Civil War. His best friend was one of his slaves and ate dinner with him at the same table, had him run his plantation whenever he was away.

It was common for family members, such as brothers or fathers and sons, to serve and defend side by side. The Grace brothers @ 1:15 couldn't be any older than 15/16 yrs old. So young and brave when duty called. I hope they made it home safely to their family and lived well into old age. May all these soldiers RIP 🙏

You can thank lincoln!he ended slavery because everyone knew his initial cause of a forced union was that of a dictator!so Noone with any intelligence would fight to force a involuntary union!and thus today we are slaves to the union!
