THIS STORY:
George Parrott, also known as "Big Nose George", "Big Beak Parrott", "George Manuse", and "George Warden", was a cattle rustler and highwayman in the American Wild West in the late 19th century.
His skin was made into a pair of shoes after his lynching and part of his skull was used as an ashtray.
THIS CHANNEL:
_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

What a wild story! That museum is amazing too. That skull ... the shoes ... the death mask, Wow! What a way to bring this story to life. That jailers wife is the real hero here. You'd never see that kind of treatment today of any deceased prisoner. You know how that goes. They have rights. Only the victims are the ones who never seem to have any rights. I guess some things were better in those days. Ron, this story was phenomenal!! You just out did yourself once again. Thank you to the fellows at the museum who allowed you access to such treasures!

I can't imagine wearing a dead man's skin. I can't imagine going to a doctor who wears a dead man's skin. I guess the folks who lived there didn't have much choice, though. But ugh! It takes a really twisted mind to do something like that. Thank you so much for the museum tour, Ron! That fire engine was huge! The firefighters must have been exhausted by the time they got to the fire, with all the wheels and sirens to operate! They do have some rare items. This was great!

I had read the story of Big Nose but to see those shoes and his skull up close was interesting. That is quite a story. I wonder what became of his parents and any siblings? It does sound like he is much more interesting in death than he ever was in life. What a wasted life he had but it does make for an unusual story. Thanks Ron and also thanks to the museum guys for sharing whats left of George with us! Take care of yourself, Ron. When I get a cold, I have to sleep it off and now that I am retired, I can take some Nyquil and sleep away for about 3 full days and nights!! 😊

If you ever decide to drive to Arizona via I-80, and I-15 to Las Vegas, visit the Mormon Pioneer Cemetery in St George Utah. Veterans of the Mexican war are buried there as well as many foreign-born Mormons born in the 18th century. Also, a side trip to Primm NV on the California-Nevada border on I-15 will bring you to Whiskey Petes Casino. Named after a "desert Rat' who died in the 1930s, Whiskey Pete McIntyre. When he passed away his grave was lost, only to be found during the construction of the casino. He now lies buried under a massive neon sign. He was a fascinating character, worthy of one of your episodes.

Well, from what we saw in the museum, they weren’t just joking when they called him “Big Nose George “ Kind of reminds me of Klinger from M*A*S*H* Sounds like Dr. Osborn could’ve gotten a Section 8! Instead of wearing women’s clothes, he wore human skin.
