Arthur I found out the reason why Edmund was misplaced. It turns out that there was a no room for the urn to fit in the 1959 shelf so he was placed in the bigger shelf in vault 5 so there you have it Arthur I solved the mystery of the misplaced urn of Edmund Gwenn

Please tell me I wasn't the only person who actually got choked up when they finally found Edmund Gwenn (Santa Claus in "Miracle on 34 Street") at 35:58? Stuff like this is why I subbed to this channel. Not trying to come across as bitter, but this is seriously the type of content that KZbin should truly focus on instead of Influencers, "Prank Channels", and those awful "KZbin Shorts" that's been rolled out for almost a year now.

Edmund Gwenn's bio indicated he had some personal challenges in his life, such as one person, upon his death & associated with him towards the end, contesting his will. That probably made the way his remains were handled in 1959 a bit of a social-political quagmire. Regardless, an Oscar winner for his iconic role as Santa in a classic movie has long needed formal honor & tangible remembrance. Over 60 yrs is way too long.a delay

I agree. I have been linking family on FindAGrave. I look at the list of names provided by Arthur and think "how sad" that no one has come forward to claim them. Even if they can't afford a niche then scatter their ashes to nature or the sea. i found a wife on this list whose husband is supposed to be inurned there but his name is not on the list so I contacted the Chapel to see if he is in a niche. Kudos to Arthur & people like Jessica. The legwork of such historians (& that's how I describe them) is much appreciated. I also appreciate other transcribers of culture like the late Huell Howser or Mike of YT's German in Venice. Remembering people's history has made me think more closely about the role of cemeteries, grave sites & burial vs cremation. Arthur's vid reminds me that cremation predates today's era of low carbon & Green Earth ("don't waste land for coffins! Grr"). People who've affected thousands or millions of other people (& who may otherwise want their ashes scattered at sea) have almost a duty to leave behind a permanent resting place. To do what fans of Helen Chandler, Ann Sheridan or Margaret Dumont have done. What fans of Edmund Gwenn want to do---& if by Xmas 2023, perfect timing. As for glass display vaults with mementos, they may not have the centuries-long durability of granite markers in the ground, but they sure are ideal for fans of celebrities. Heck, for anyone. Something like that for Albert Einstein would be off the charts. BTW, cartoonist Gladys Parker has such a modern, current look, I'd swear she was from around today. When I was a kid, I remember watching the work of actor Nigel Bruce (Dr Watson), director Kurt Newmann (The Fly), HB Warner (Mr Gower), Thomas Mitchell (George's Uncle Billy, Scarlett O'Hara's father). The story of William Selig makes me think of how culture via motion pictures was a part of local history going back well before today's era of WGA & SAG out on strike. I've seen on YT the 1940's trailer for Miracle on 34th Street & I can tell the people behind that movie were very talented film makers. No wonder they created a classic. And Edmund Gwenn is one its major symbols. As for the human soul & things like Hollywood history: Marty Martyn (Eg, partial link: hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/10-year-old-boy-says-784090)

March 5, 2023 - has anyone noticed that on this day, the country music world remembered the 60th anniversary of Patsy Cline's death? May everybody RIP in the Chapel.

No one gives a better description and story of the people interred better than you Arthur. It’s such a privilege and such a pleasure seeing your videos. It’s definitely something to look forward to. Thank you for taking the time and research and thank Giuseppe for the wonderful music! And chapel of the pines for letting us in!

Easily one of my favorite videos I've watched on KZbin to date. You did a fantastic job with the storytelling of these souls. I teared up more than once. This is such important work. Thank you.

I wish I could have worked on that project with you! As a Geneaologist and a former crematory technician this would have been right up my alley! The children's vault was tough....I have done lots of infants and children so that always hurt, but you have to shut your emotions off to get the job done. Let us know if there is a fund raiser for Edmund Gwynn, I missed the last one. What a great job you did on this show!

This is one of your most Fascinating Tours to date! Never seen anything like it! The Chapel of the Pines Columbarium. Astonishing the Venture of finding ones thought lost like Edmund Gwenn now to be talked of and seen again! Gratifying that some are being brought into the light like Helen. Thanks so much for such a Memorable and Touching Tour Arthur. 🥀🖤🥀

I have watched every one of your videos multiple times and I have to say this has been the most emotional. I shed several tears for these people. It just seemed more sad than normal. I’m so glad for the people you rescued. You are doing a great service! I can’t wait to see what happens with Edmond!

Hollywood Graveyard has long been my favorite KZbin channel and for very good reason. The quality of your work and dedication is like no other. This is quite possibly your best episode yet. The identification and cataloging of all those remains was a daunting task but so worth it because every person, whether famous or not, deserves to be remembered. As mentioned by so many others, the discovery of Edmund Gwenn's remains was a pleasant surprise. For me, finding Margaret Dumont's remains was rather emotional. She's been a favorite of mine for many years and I always considered her to be an underrated actor. Many thanks to you and everyone involved in this huge discovery. You really did find Hollywood gold!

Thanks for doing that for William Selig. He did some of my favorite Western Films from then. And I agree on those Vaults. I had a flashback to Sorcerer's Stone and Ollivander's Wand Shop. 😅 Thanks for everything you do, Arthur. It was interesting to see the secret vault. 😊 And tbe 🌹 room had me in tears. So tearful seeing all those cremains of little ones.

This has been the most moving of all the shows you have produced. Having been missing, lost, and exiled for decades, it is miraculous to be found in the way they were found. Thanks, Mr. Dark, for bringing light.

The only things I don't like about Hollywood Graveyard are hearing Mr. Dark's closing line & the length of time between new videos. I've watched & rewatched all of his videos. I'm a little surprised that a network hasn't given him his own series.

Arthur, this is your finest work to date. I'm just in awe. And so pleased that Jessica found Edmund Gwenn! It just didn't seem right that the greatest Santa Claus ever depicted on the silver screen should be lost forever. And Thomas Mitchell! I still feel sad that he's down in the vault and not in his own special niche upstairs, but I can respect that that was his wish, and glad to hear his family wants to respect that as well. Now I'm off to start scrolling through Jessica's spreadsheets. What a gift to the genealogy community! Thank you, Jessica! And Arthur, thank you so much for all you've done to help her, and for this wonderful video. So beautifully and respectfully done. ♥

It is unbelievable the amount of souls under this roof. Many you mentioned are favorites of mine: Thomas Mitchell, Edmund Gwenn, and HB Warner! I’d love to see HB interred somewhere public. Thank you so much for taking on this project, in all it’s incarnations of discovery, research and cataloging, as well as contacting the deceased’s families. I’m still emotional from watching this. We all want to feel a happy ending is possible, and knowing there is a place to visit and honor loved ones, be they our relatives or simply those who had a profound effect on our lives, is extremely touching and balm for my grieving soul.

With work and just regular life, I’ve just now had an opportunity to fully watch this episode, and I must say, even after all these years this had to be number 1 for me. Absolutely amazing and the work you do, and the care you’ve taken to recognize the souls gone before us is amazing, and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Arthur and Jessica for all your hard work. Lots of love from Detroit 🥰🥰

How in THE world did you figure all this out? It's INCREDIBLE. You've even gone through log books to find names of people who may not have markings? And then to get the access here and also have someone available to make changes and fixes to things? Insane. You're a treasure and I hope people let you know how great you are for putting in all this work. WOW!
