Wow! How beautiful! I love looking at it thru the eyes of your drone. I can’t get enough of this cemetery. I wish I knew everyone’s story. I don’t see death .. I see History, family, tradition, Heartbreak and love. These people could have been related to my grandparents who immigrated here from Italy 🇮🇹. I also see a moment in time that people have forgot. A Thank you so much for doing this. I wish it was longer. I didn’t want it to end.

Boy are we similar. This cemetery, as others, is pure history. I so wish we could retrieve some of the stories. I would not be bored hearing about an average family’s joys and struggles from the early 1900s (for example). I have thought about it many times. How could that even be possible? It is possible, but it would take a lot of hours. One could take it “one family at a time”. Maybe this is a sideline that we chip away at some day. We could even have a small group of people in our Faces family here that could, for example, call the family descendants of a selected grave or family plot and get the stories. Just like your family and mine, we all have the stories. And many of us have the old black and white pictures. We were only touching the surface when we did the Mastrangelo mausoleum tour, but that’s what I’m talking about. All of the stories are locked up in a little cache right now with the descendants of each family. The stories are there to be told. At least all is not YET truly lost to the sands of history. Wow - this is great Penny; on giving me something to chew on here. All of us. It’s not been done before. And I love doing things for the first time. It’s the explorer in me. 😊

@@FacesoftheForgotten I always wanted to do a website of all our cemeteries in my city where one could give the families history in detail, add pictures, state how they died etc and anyone can add to it....more of a detailed family tree. So many lives that were lived so many stories forgotten but each one a tale of the human condition. I don't think their lives are so distant from ours. Their concerns of family, home, employment, wanting the best for their children are always the same, no matter the age we live in. That's how I feel connected to the past to the names on the stones in my local church yard and how I feel when watching your amazing videos.

Mount Carmel Cemetery was consecrated in 1901 and is currently 214 acres (0.87 km2) in size. It maintained its own office until 1965, when it combined operations with Queen of Heaven Cemetery. There are more than 226,275 remains at Mount Carmel and about 800 remains are interred annually.
