We have a Coon Hound/Saddleback Cur cross. She was bred to hunt wild pigs in Texas but being the runt of the litter was too small for that purpose. We rescued her from being shot. Roxy is a sweetie with lots of energy and is very graceful when she runs. This video is so interesting!

I did a quick Google search. Nite is a championship trial event. The dogs have to have a certain amount of points to enter. Grand Nite champion is roughly the equivalent of AKC best in show. These are not your run of the mill hounds. They are bred for their abilities, intelligence and stamina as opposed to AKC which emphasizes color, size, etc. One thing that stood out to me is that these dogs have to hunt on their own as opposed to hinting in a pack. So they have to be extra intelligent, adaptable, independent and know how to solve problems related to the hunt. They are impressive animals. Thanks for this awesome video.

(From the Tim Burton movie Frankenweenie, about a boy grieving his dog) "When you lose someone you love, they never really leave you. They just move to a special place in your heart. He'll always be with you." I think this cemetery's existence is a testament to that sentiment. Decades and generations worth of love. Once you've loved a pet, your heart is never the same. It's a beautiful, heartbreaking experience for sure.

Yes indeed. I love my 2 coonhounds. They are 1 year old siblings I adopted last summer as pups. They are loud, stubborn and rowdy. They are bred working dogs. Hardwired for the hunt. When I was a little girl, my Dad had Field Trial dogs. Mom would set me up with a pillow and a blanket in the backseat and off we’d go. They would lay a scent trail and first dog to the coon won. Dad loved his Walker Hounds, and later switched to hunting coyotes. He’s gone now, but I’m sure he’s running his dogs in heaven..

Hi Ron if you see anything written with the UKC NT CH they are purebreed champions registered with the United National Kennel Club. Mostly sporting dogs, preferably hunting. Our dog is AKC registered, as you know that stands for American Kennel Club. We belong to the BMDCA which stands for Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America. Ryan will have that written on his headstone ☺ Enjoyed the video, hope this comment stays lol..Take care wherever your travels may take you💛 Guess a lot of people knew what UKC NT CH stood for, I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in lolol

Have another that's going to be 11. Sometimes we forget that 11 and 12 are like 80+ in human years. We have to make our best times with them when we can. Know you're a dog lover. Thank you🙂🐾

Here in S.W. Missouri, coon hunters abound. I can remember lots of mornings that there would be 2 or 3 dogs laying asleep out in my yard, exhausted from a night of running raccoons. They had collars with their owners name and phone number and I would call and let him know where his dogs were. I always made sure they had an ample water supply. Their poor little tired feet would sometimes have cracks and even thorns that they had picked up during their nighttime adventures. They were the sweetest dogs and would run their hearts out chasing coons. They were often heard barking up trees down in the fields at night. Most hunters now have battery locators on their dogs collars so they can track them in their travels.

My puppers is a schnauzer/cairn terrier/long-haired dachshund mix & I don't know WHAT his ancestors were like, but we had a raccoon show up (this thing was almost the same size as my Bernie) & it got it's little paws into the side of my screen door, started to open it a touch & Bernie came close to MAULING the thing. Hasn't been back since, but wooooaaaah was NOT expecting that level of ferocity O.o was impressive really (Bernie is a 26lb knee-licker..... 2 years later, he surprised us ALL & jumped my deck railing & took down a 16 pointer white-tailed buck. Yes, I reported it. Yes, cops showed up. Yes, they said it counted as 'natural', since Bernie has NO hunting training at all....so, I got to keep the deer. Skinned, butchered, smoked/cooked & was delicious. Still have pics of the antlers). " Never Underestimate The Warmth Of A Cold Nose" -the sign I have hanging, over Bernie's crate

That was nice to see how much people care about their hunting buddies. It is a really nice cemetery. Thank you for taking us on a walk through it. Always an interesting adventure.

This reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode. A old backwoodsman and his dog die in a hunting accident. The devil tries to trick the man into entering hell. The devil tells him his dog isn't allowed. The dog barks and barks, because he can recognize the devil. The old man won't go anywhere without his dog. The old man leaves with his dog and begins to wander. Finally, he finds the gates of heaven, where the old man and his dog are welcomed.
