No it’s not. Firstly, there’s not anyone watching this video who is unaware of what happened on January 6th. At this point it’s already baked into people’s opinions and we don’t need to hear yet another interview where the focus is on January 6th. Mr. Gates talks about how no leader is giving a clear vision for foriegn policy, then goes on to critique a proposed settlement in the Ukraine v Russia conflict with no discussion about what the alternative vision looks like. I have heard others in the neoconservative vein openly discuss how regime change in Russia and inclusion of Ukraine in NATO is the end goal. So, Mr. Gates, walk the walk. What is the vision for the end game in Ukraine if not a proposed settlement? I still have yet to hear any realistic solution from anyone. Instead of smearing those who support a settlement, give people a better vision and option. Educate us.

Bunch of mumbo jumbo. These people are never clear about exactly what they mean. He says that the American people need to be made to understand why the US needs to do certain things around the world. But he doesn’t say what those things really are. He says that making a deal to end the war in Ukraine will have national security implications for the US. But he doesn’t say what the implications would be. He says he wants Americans to agree with him, but he doesn’t make clear exactly what it is that he wants them to agree with. He gives away the game at 18:45.

Republicans never can get away from cynicism, when it comes to acknowledging the success of Democrats. Gates says he's never heard anyone articulate the national security priorities. Then when he's reminded that President Biden has done so on a number of occasions, he then reverts to saying that two speeches are not enough. He wants the president to be repeating the message every time (What happened to never heard anyone articulate the priorities?). These people can't help themselves with disingenuous doublespeak.
