The owner of Madison Square Garden uses facial recognition to deny entry to people he doesn’t like. Including lawyers from firms that represent people he’s in disputes with. Welcome to the future.

Thank you for your video. As always, tech briefing is treating an important technological issue directly related to our life. Imagine when your biometric data has been collected and detailed enough, so someone can use it in deep-fake. Suddenly, your living evidence loses its credibility to your virtual data. If this gets combined with AI tech, then we would possibly see an inception of a society like in the movie ‘minority report’. In current zeitgeist, main purpose of technologies is to make everything predictable, so lives can be managed efficiently as projected. This is why your biometric data shall belong solely and solemnly to your-self. US gouvernement is banning TikTok to show their awareness about it. But in fact, US is not that far from China in terms of the protection of personal, biometric data.

Walmart has cameras on customers entering and on self service cashiers. Are these facial recognition and are they being stored or shared?

Facial recognition should be a two factor authentication and a third authorization process.

Ms. Nguyen seems to be unaware of the old SCOTUS decision which affirms the idea of one's consenting to be on camera by performing the simple act of being in public.

Yeah, this is why I watch video. To listen to someone talk while watching b-roll and some graphics. Ironic considering it’s tech content. 🙄

It's unlikely they even realize the privacy they have. Most of us don't until it's gone. And for many of them, they'd probably choose to give some of it up in order to have the conveniences we do.
