What is your primary resource…Ex. For Looking up differential diagnoses? Thanks so much!!!

I LOVE Up-to-Date, I use it every single day-- it's searchable and really fast for clinic use. I also reference Symptom to Diagnosis in textbook form, but that's for more common chief complaints!

Love your videos. If ESR, ANA and CRP are Positive. What would you do next? These three test are always confusing.
@RealWorldNP3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. ESR, ANA and CRP are very vague labs and you need to first order them judiciously based on the symptoms and what you think you're looking for in the first place (since especially ESR/CRP don't mean much by themselves) and so in this case, if ESR and CRP were elevated, plus or minus ANA, I'd have her see rheumatology next for them to determine what rheum labs come next. There are SO many different rheum labs depending on what condition you're looking at, and not all of them are "seropositive" meaning you have to diagnose them clinically, not with labs. In her case, unfortunately all the labs were negative :( so I recommended she see allergy for support with determining an allergic possible cause.

Great presentation!! I love your videos and how realistically you present them. Please keep up updated on this one. I have a patient with facial edema but she has just finished prednisone- probably cushings.

Not as of yet. I would recommend checking UpToDate ( or preferred evidence based resource ) for the most recent information on this topic.
