Facility failed to immediately notify police after witnessing alleged rape

At my nursing home a male housekeeper was suspected of molesting a patient. So me and another aide snuck up on him and caught him with his hand under her blankets. He tried to play it off. Whatever it was it was very suspect. I reported it immediately. They had him in the office asking questions. The housekeeper was our social worker father. They banned him from my unit. I couldn't prove he did anything but I was proud to be on top of it.

As a nursing assistant I am at a lost of words. I would have beat his ass, called the police, called her wife and reported it to dhec IMMEDIATELY! The cna should be charged because she knows better and the administrator as well

I was trained in the incident of abuse you remove the resident, call 911, then notify your supervisor. Everything you do is to ensure the safety of the residents 😔smh sad situation

I agree! I hate those facilities, people work there just for a paycheck. My Mom was in one for about 3 weeks before she passed and some of those CNAs were NASTY because they bring their problems to work and take it out on patients . Please if this isn't the job for you, don't do it!

So the CNA waited for him to finish, called her supervisor and was advised to dispose of the evidence by giving her a bed bath🤔....Sounds like the supervisor talked with the owner and the legal team before deciding what to do. I blame the supervisor because she instructed that CNA to destroy evidence. I don't believe the CNA acted alone in this.

It is a sad and unfortunate incident for anyone to be sexually assaulted. But we can't neglect the fact that these 2 ladies lived in blasphemy and abomination for many years. Everything we do in this life against God, know we all have consequences and repercussions to pay.
