This is my first time watching one of your videos and I can already see what's so special about you: it's the authenticity. There's no pretense about you, and I can see why people love that, because I love that. On the technical side, the story also flows nicely, with crisp editing. But really, it's the picture of your beautiful family that endures. You have a new subscriber. All the best to you.

Jatlag and school… still routine will help overcome jetlag. Also love the pool or fountain the kids played in! I just have always been so drawn to water you’re basically allowed to play in/with/just casually around walk in (good too) ever since I can remember and still love it. Only thing holding me back would be if I’m too cold, or feeling a little unwell, or just simply sadly not dressed for waterfun (that’s an unfortunate reality sometimes too isn’t it?) Uncle looks like he had a fun birthday. Happy 40 🎉

Happy to see you again had a great time in the US with your family and friends, and that you were adjusting well once back home in Japan. Jet lag is such an interesting phase you have to endure 😁 We were travelling ourselves! This time it was the US actually - NYC, to be more precise. It was amazing!

When I was in Saitama participating in an exchange program, I experienced my first typhoon. It was a blessing in disguise. Japan in July and August was just brutal, but once the typhoon came through, the weather dried up quite a bit and made it a bit more manageable!

I totally can relate. I came from Switzerland and the company that I worked for relocated me to Tokyo and I only got 3 weeks to prepared. I remember when I got to Tokyo I thought I would never last a year (esp with my zero Nihongo skill except Arigatou). But Japan really grows in me...and 9 years later I'm still here in Tokyo and even bought two houses !

Oh my. I am not sure how long it has been since the last time I watched a vlog by you guys, but I am sure it has been long enough for you to travel back to the US and come back! I am also noticing that you have moved into a new place? I hope you are enjoying it :) .. Everyone looks a bit older ... especially Joshua. Life has been difficult for me as my mother has been diagnosed with cancer for the 2nd time. It is not promising and the chance of survival is very little. We've been busy with that, hospitalisations, trips to ER and all the complications that come with it. My mom was very unlucky because her body is weak as she is well in her late 60s. Nothing feels as hopeless as watching her in pain [because her morphine isn't enough to do anything] and unable to do anything. I feel it is too much to ask but it would be generous if you would kindly keep her in your prayers. God bless.

Wow, that lotion bottle mess! I wouldn't have thought about plastic bags! I had a shampoo bottle spill out on a long trip once. Luckily, it was soap and everything only had to be rinsed! 😂
@peko74464 ай бұрын
I suggest to tape the lid of the lotion bottle (I use duct tape or transpore) and fill the container, so the little air left can't expand as much. Works for me. The plastic bag helps also.

Reverse reverse culture shock, hahaha! It’s always a good alert for your brain when you see things in the other country that you had forgotten about. One of my favorite things to bring back besides deodorant was pepperoni slices. So hard to find in Japan! Glad you survived the typhoon. It’s always hit and miss with the storms.

I thought you can't bring any meat products in Japan. Been wanting to bring jerky or salami for my friend there.
@tpatrickl95394 ай бұрын
@@peko7446 I never had any issues taking pepperoni into Japan. It is sliced, packaged, and cooked. I don’t know about the legal parameters. When I read through the information, I understood that this style of pepperoni was OK. I usually get the five or 6 ounce sliced pepperoni pillow wrap packages. I think what they get concerned about is the unwrapped uncut long salami or jerky or pepperoni.
