this place reminds me of my childhood trips with my parents and our friends. Your kids will also remember this forever. this is what I call a happy childhood. Nature, family and friends together.

thanks so much for the theme of "rest". I definitely need this during the weekend. The world is always moving fast, and we are reminded to rest. And God does tell us to rest ☺

What a beautiful area! I often forget to slow down and then wonder how fast time has flown by. Thank you for the reminder to slow down. I love the sound of rain so much. I miss walking in the rain, sadly here in Florida rain is often accompanied with thunderstorms, so no going outside. I am glad you all had an amazing time, can't wait to see the cute cows at the dairy farm next week :)

Next week's video will be a blast for sure :) And I do love the rain, and believe it or not, I really kind of miss the thunderstorms we got in Illinois growing up.

Hello. So great you revisited Karuizawa. I’ve cleaned those cabins.!!!! My husband and I did short term missions there Aug. - November 2019, 2020, 2022. Loved every minute. Tsuruya a wonderful place to shop as well as the store across the street. Thanks for the video and thanks for staying at the retreat center. ❤️

Wow - we would have just missed your time there, as we went at the end of March in 2019. I hope we can get up there again sooner than in 5 years!

I don't know if your family gets to listen to much music, though the song, humble and kind, I do recommend.

Been missing your videos. I had to take a mental break from Japan. I watch these and I want to go too much. Glad your leg healed nicely. I was bedridden for 2 months with a broken ankle. Reruns of Bonanza get old after a while. Your kids have grown so much in 5 years. Sarahnaded-a new word.

Never been to Karuizawa around this time of the year. Must have been a bit cold there in the morning/night. Nice climate in Summer but too much congested and everything is expensive!

I've often wondered how big families manage to do a full shop with those tiny basket/trolley combos. I only use a basket like that to get food for one meal for my family of 5, and I prefer to shop for a full week at least to avoid having to waste time going back to shop every day. Do Japanese supermarkets have big trolleys as well?
@LIJ5 ай бұрын
Not usually - at least not big in the way that they are in the western countries. But that's one of the reasons we love Costco - we can get it all in one basket! :)
Edge of Nagano? That's where the 1998 Winter Olympics was held.

My mom also got the small streets where you can’t pass well on out last trip 😂 and then had to drive a huge detour on those streets because of some random construction. Must be mom’s luck 😮
