Due to this video demonstrating how versatile this ratchet is, I bought it! Here in the UK we can get the ratchet by itself (and the extension bar) for £35. rather than pay for duplicate bits and sockets which total £55 - £70. The teeth have more resistance than I was expecting, but it is a great little tool.

Facom - every tool I've bought from them is total quality and worth the extra money. Flex head and T handle on this is an example of their innovation. However if you need small and quality, the tiny ratchet that has saved my day more than any other tool I remember is the Teng T1420 ratchet set. Only tool I have that always gets in the tightest of spaces and wins.

No, not so much: With the same flex head functionality I have one here brandet " Berner " and with the T- functionality I have one brandet " Topeak " . The same " movement " so, all from the same manufacturer in Taiwan. This is only the availiability in German - or what I found and own so far. Have also " Wera " , " Facom " and " KS - Tools " and a japanese one. All share the same " movement "

Hello! What point are you making? What do you mean, "no"? Berner seems to sell a 1/4" drive bit set, 186637, for the same price as the Facom set. But it looks worse? I think Topeak is focused on selling bike tools, which are usually worse than car mechanic tools with some exceptions e.g. PB Swiss. I've bought some Topeak stuff. It was fine but not really top quality, unlike Facom tools. If your tools work for you - good! My Facom tools are still holding up great two years later. I still love my little Teng bit ratchet because it gets into tight places and handle some torque well. In fact, I bought another Teng set (T1420) to sit in my car.

Oh man, you garnett and facom were ahead of thier time with this set and review. I see everyone is selling a version of these now and, I'm having a hard time differentiating between them in quality and value. Your like, a tool guru. I would value your opinion in the current iterations of this tool set between this facom set and icon,Vim, mac, toptul. All seem to be made in Taiwan. Other then that. Why such differences in prices. Am I missing something? I thought i wanted the icon, but I think I want the toptul set instead. Anyways, thanks for making this 5yrs ago, even though I just stumbled upon this review today.

very nice review! i bought a bahco 2058/S26 set. other than T handle, it provides everything else. Has a PH#3 and PZ#3 bit too.

Looks like a very handy tool kit....and thank you for clarifying that Taiwan is not part of China...it still blows my mind that people think they're the same...good video and you got a new sub...on a side note, I remove the PD bits and replace them with more useful common bits since Pozidrive hardware is very rare in the US...I have never needed them

This is a great little kit, I got one a few months ago to carry around in my tool bag. It's tiny takes up hardly any room in the bag but I have found it really useful. I got mine from Prime Tools in the UK, it's currently £41.99 including VAT (£34.99 without VAT) although I got mine for a bit less.

Dude, I really hope you read this, because I am so excited about this set. I was looking for a compact set to place in my tool box that I use for Radio Control cars. I found one of these on eBay from a guy in the UK, and it is under 80 bucks with shipping. A tad steep, but this set hits all my bullet points. I could also just buy the ratchet for 48.00, but the case.....oh, man.....the way you presented that case, I have to have it, too. First off, I am a HUGE fan of the flex ratchets. My 3/8 and 1/4 socket sets BOTH include more than one flex ratchet. The ratchet in this set is the most awesome I have ever seen. I must have watched 50 videos on mini ratchet sets, and on a scale from 1 to 10, if this is a 10, the nearest competitor is a 3 or 4. Seriously, I can't get this ordered fast enough. The price is high, but your review has me so sold, I will have trouble falling asleep tonight. That is how excited I am for this set. I watched a few of your other vids, and you are a natural. You should be on TV! Keep on doing what you're doing. I will be 56 later this month, but right now I feel like a kid at Christmas time, knowing I will get my new ratchet set.

Looks amazingly functional. I wonder how much torque this one can take without locking up. However, with bits and bit wrenches, it's ridiculously easy to lose them. I wouldn't spend more than $10 for the bit ratchet itself. I'm currently using the Craftsman version of the Lang fine tooth one, also available under Bluepoint. It's not the prettiest or most functional one around, but it does what I need it to do when I need it - which is not very often.

Factory direct in Japan sells a tool just like this, which is where I first saw this flex bit ratchet with an extension that turns the ratchet into a t-handle, the name of the tool is Deen

Yup, the brand is Deen...the house brand of Factory Gear tools stores in Japan. The owner has a close relationship with certain Taiwanese OEM companies.

I agree with you, but when you think about the dimunitive size of Factory Gear, in relation to companies like Stanley B&D, having the Taiwanese OEM produce super "small" batches for them is not cost efficient for both, the OEM and Factory Gear. It nonetheless shows how good of a relation the owner of Factory Gear has with Taiwanese OEMs....now nearing 20 years.

We have " Wera " , " Facom " and " KS- Tools " brandet Bit ratchet sets here in Germany. Will be similar in other countries. Also have a japanese one with the same indestines. The " movement " in the ratchets is all same,interchangeable, comes from a taiwanese manufacturer. So if U want to save a fortune - compare and buy the cheapest. But careful ! The listed ones are superb quality but thera are also cheap knockoffs !

Case IH sells a nice little ratchet driver set like that, but not so elaborate and the price reflects that. The main upside to the Case IH one is rather than 6 or 12 point, the sockets are spline.

I had a oil filter wrench made by Facom, it adjusted sizes by ratcheting. Lend it to a friend and never seen it again.....

I bought the Bonaire bit set from Costco, very cheap and I've beat the shit out of it for the last 2.5 years and it's still going as strong as the day I got it. Have a look well worth the money

People keep saying it's the same as Icon - but Icon doesn't include sockets. I still believe the Icon one is a better choice because the bits have a lifetime warranty and include all your issues. Get a Knipx Pliers Wrench and it'll replace all these sockets anyways.

Nice video,Facom tools made in France used to be good,as was Peugeot tools..dont know much about them these days..that set looked nice though..E font have Facom or Peugeot tools down here..We have mainly Stanley and Bahco..but all their products come from China and Taiwan..Snap-On tools are also available IF you can afford them,ha,ha,ha Most of the tool shops stock privately imported own brands which come from.the same Taiwan factories that Stanley obtains from..at a lower price..Stanley leaves a sour taste in my mouth as they bought out and closed down our two iconic tool companies Turner and Sidchrome ...

After watching this I was in a flea market and found these sockets and you flip them over the have her inserts. For days I sat and thought what the hell did I buy for 3 bucks. Some said SAE numbers and some had no writing and then I found one that said Made in the USA. So I grabbed my long hex and started to put them in to the hex slots. I tried METRIC and then SAE. They where a loose fit. So I sat back and thought about it. Maybe they were used for dashboard work and you put an Allen wrench and turn them, For lo profile work. NO!!!!..... What somebody did was knocked out the drill bit side of the hex. And turned them into what you got in that Facom box and saved all that money to find them and made a home made tool. I stumbled across this set in the bottom of the box and thought it was 3 bucks. Little did I know you take the same pass through ratchet and match up the hex bit and then put into the socket. THAT'S was F'n a cool. Thanks for the video and the savings too. ;)

You should try some britool hallmark tools they are more or less new old stock when britool was one of the best in world, expert what mac sells as you know are Taiwanese but good where britool/facom but Stanley made a big mess of it , in the uk what kills us its not the price of the tools it's the postage a snap-on 2ph screwdriver £22.99 post £18.00 can you justify the cost.

Dude two things. You like I will be made fun of for using "Frenchie" tools. Trust me. But my FACOM set is.almost.15. Years old and has the 5! Degree ratchet. Must admit that is VERY helpful! Secondly do not I repeat do NOT great those things being made in Taiwan. (Unless stamped I guess?) They are, like their USAG counterpart made in Italy. My FACOM set is French made. Thanks Stanley and black and decker I can hear them say it now. LITERALLY if y'all want the SAME tools as FACOM but with. 1/3 to half off deal buy USAG branded stuff. You'll see they. Are almost identical! IRS crazy.
