Yes, I know the guns in the movie are portable railguns with x-ray scopes. I described them as skeleton guns because it sounds funnier and because that's the visual that always stuck with me as a kid. A general rule of thumb on KZbin is to never talk about guns because smarmy weirdoes who make knowing about them their entire personality will pick apart everything you say. I've now learned this extends to fictional guns that shoot anti-skeletons rays. - Karl

Talking about GMO, there was a situation in Hawaii where a native fruit tree was at risk of being wiped out by a tree virus. The trees were saved by surrounding unmodified trees with trees modified with a gene that made them immune.

Great movie. I watched the angry nerd talk about the title on one of his videos he asks a great question. Is it “last action, hero” he’s the end of the line when you need a hero you get him. Or is it “last, action hero” he is the end of a character type.

I've never seen the whole movie but the scene in Red Heat where Arnold holds up some prosthetic leg and pours out a bunch of white powder and wide eyed says "COCAINUM" just kills me, it makes me just always have that little internal laugh when it floats to the surface of my mind

There is value in watching media you consider bad and analyzing what you think doesn't work or at least what doesn't work for you. But something that happens way too often is people watching something specifically to mock it and then want to paint people who do like it as idiots, especially if those people do want to engage in discussion about why they do see positives in the work. And I think something too common when this topic comes up is that people focus on saying those with positive opinions are the toxic ones and those with negative opinions are the ones with a critical mind. No, media analysis should flow with nuance, someone with a positive view of a work has as much validity as someone with a negative one. Someone disagreeing with your negative views isn't automatically a "toxic positivity blind zealot", it's simply someone disagreeing with you. And it drives me nuts how someone can mock a piece of work and its fans, but if you say "hey, that's not fair, I think this is pretty good actually", then you are labeled as the bad guy, but the guy who is being a dick is just being "critical". No. You can have an opinion on media, just don't be a dick about it, it's not that hard, and if you are going to be a dick then you don't get to later complaint when someone pushes back against you.

The clone thing is like the inverse of the transporter problem. If a transporter works by blasting every atom in your body in to energy and rebuilding it on the other end, and you use one daily, what happens when it fails to destroy your source atoms. What happens when they ask you to stand by while they try to destroy you again. Who is the real you who should have your life?

Commando with Arnold and Rae Dawn Chong (Tommy Chong's daughter) has some amazing one liners from Arnie, one of the best is where she asks "What happened to Sully?" and Arnie replies "I let him go." Plus after he breaks this dude's neck on a plane and props him up with a pillow and blanket he tells the Stewardess "Please don't bother my friend, he's dead tired." Phenomenal one liners, hilarious plot, absolutely not believable by any means, but still a damn good action film anyway. It has all the right explosions at all the right times.

What that company that threatened to sue doesn’t understand had they took the studio to court they would have lost. Cause if you always see the disclaimer at the end of the credits This is a work of fiction. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events, is purely coincidental. Would have protected them from litigation.

Running Man: "I'll live to see you eat that contract, but I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and break your god-damn spine!" I'm not sure you could consider this a one liner but it's so different from other memorable Arnold dialogue. Usually Arnold one liners are meant to be cool or bad ass, or even funny, but this line in running man along with Arnold's delivery is legit scary. It's also completely out of no where in a movie that's a very tongue in cheek satire of game shows/fascism and absolutely chocked full of probably the worst collection of Arnold one liners in his entire career.
