An amateur seeking to teach for another person in order to become thorough in a concept is also a guru. So yes, he is a guru. @@heinzwurzer2345 of course I don't think he is an arhat but what I meant to say was that as far as I had studied, guru means a teacher. A guru need not always be an arhat. Well if you look at it as a scientific explanation they're are a few gaps. If prana is in the air we breathe, why would the afferent and efferent nerve bundles that are being shown as being analogous to the Ida and pingala be the carriers of prana? The reasons for the varying degrees of warmth in different parts of the body are conviniently being glossed over. My basic understanding of biology makes me think the surface area and concentration of blood vessels in a given region influence the generation of warmth in different parts of the body. But the blood vessels aren't the same as nadis. Basically though I am admitting that i don't know. I'm open to hearing an explanation accommodating both biology and the contentions of chakras

I realise, now, that just because transaction of prana happens with the breath doesn't mean air is prana. Maybe it is the subtler energy that it carries. We know how oxygen drives the various metabolic reactions and the synthesis of the energy carrier ATP which in turn drives various reactions and the functioning of various organs. That's probably why it is present in the spine, the air and the blood and as the warmth in our body. But does that mean it is the redox potential that all of these molecules carry? Then how the definite 72000 pathways in the form of nadis and their concurrence as chakras? How does prana "flow" even in seemingly inanimate things? What about it makes it predominantly masculine or feminine in its quality in the Ida and the Pingala? Maybe I'm going completely off track with this train of thought in trying to understand it. I guess trying to understand this intellectually is just a futile exercise and the right way to really know it is to bring it into our awareness through the required Sadhana..

It happened for very few seconds during meditation session which I was practicing for around 20 days and appx 1 hour. The energy i fwlt was so much my body started shaking and i saw that there are muscles oe nerve or something that we don't feel in our normal life. I realized that energy moving upward in spine. That day i got scared as i have heard that there can be so many difficulties if rhis energy is not guided on the right path. After that day i never practiced meditation but i certainly know that there is more to life that we don't know yet.

My understanding has led me to look at the chakras as a map to the nervous system provided by ancient scholars who took the time to study their bodily sensations while meditating. In this interpretation, and certainly not meant to invalidate any other interpretation as this is my personal belief, each of the major seven chakras have a neural plexus located nearby that is responsible for controlling a neurohormonal gland. Neurohormones are known to be responsible for regulating impulses sent throughout the body and brain. Most of the minor chakras are located at nerve bundles used to transmit information along the body. The spinal cord has both ascending and descending tracts on both the dorsal and ventral sides of the column. These correspond, as you mentioned, to the ida and pingala channels. The sushumna can be viewed as the large ascending white column, consisting of the dorsal column-medial lemniscus pathway (DCML), which begins at the root of the spinal cord and terminates in the brain stem. The DCML provides proprioception for the body, as well as fine-grain and rough-grain touch sensitivity. Between these two functions, any internal- or contact-based sensations would be experienced through the spinal cord. As the focus of a meditator grows through time, and the sensations in the body are able to be mapped using proprioception, the sage would be able to distinguish the release of strain in a muscle or the release of hormones in the body. And with a very experienced and fine-tuned mind, may even be able to pay attention to the movement of chemo-electric information up the spinal column and into the brain, referred to as a kundalini awakening. In biothermodynamics, the flow of heat can be seen as entering through the body in the form of oxygen (as an oxidizer for the redox reactions in the body) and is transported through the vascular system as blood. This is then moved through the body and transported to sites where, when combined with catalytic agents and proteins are turned into APT, which releases heat as a reaction. So, I've always thought of prana as the cardiovascular action, driven by the union between the breath and the body. The essential truth is still the same though: the breath drives the flow of prana through the body, which with the right focus in meditation calms the body, opens the mind, and relaxes the heart; when a state of perfect tranquility is reached, even the flow of bodily sensations and thoughts can be felt as the mind awakens to a blissful state. A different interpretation, but the same underlying philosophy.

Many good points about chakras, as they are called. Another take on same from a very personal experience over 80 years. Chakras or shunya A great effort to explain a very difficult concept. FYI what people call "chakras" are voids ( shunya: empty spaces) located in the chitrini nadi (a resonator) inside the canal centralis of the human spinal cord. They have been given shapes for illustrative purposes. The voids resonate to the very specific sound made by each Sanskrit consonant (36) and vowel (16) during meditation. From bottom, 4, 6, 10, 12 consonants are assigned to the 4 voids (socalled chatras). 16 vowels are assigned to Vishuddha and two compounds Hn and kshn (nasal sounds) are assigned to Ajna. Each void has an element (one of five) associated with it as are a god-goddess shakti combination. A presiding deity lives in each shunya. Shunya has a space-colour and a seed -sound (mantr) associated with it. Each sunya is associated with its physical counterpart along the cerebro-spinal complex of the human body. This magical arrangement is the basis of meditation to lead a disease-free happy and long life. Lately I've learnt that Hebrew letters (22) have a similar application in Kabbalah meditation. A circle or a sphere is an efficient shape in a 2-dimensional or a 3-dimensional space, with one center. Lingam is an elaboration of this idea. It represents the Shiv-Shakti concept by stretching a sphere into an ellipsoid with two centers. Shiv cannot initiate anything without Shakti. This is the fundamental principle of life. Just before creation (not by Big Bang - a scientific flop), during Pralaya, a state of monopole exists. For creation, nature's rule is duality, which is represented by Vedic Shiv-Shakti principle. In a more ignorant representation, Shiv's lingam is shown as a male penis. This is ignorance by male chauvinism, for the real container of life is the ovum, rightfully created under the guidance of the most fundamental Principle of Feminine Spiritual Primacy. Modern societies in their emphases on materialism and pleasure, have ignored noble principles laid by original thinkers called Rishis. In India, despite Vedic wisdom, women have been exploited and suppressed by male chauvinism.
