Spider crabs are eaten quite a lot here in the states. Edit: also I'm weird because spiders, snakes, exc dont scare me I was introduced to them at a very young age. Wasps are very common here in my state and some burrow underground and the colonies can be many thousands, I had to literally pour gasoline in the hole so it would suffocate them and stop them from coming up and then you have to burn them to make sure they are actually dead shit is terrifying to watch.

If it's any consolation, chickens rather like the flavor of chicken. I will say, the best way to improve adoption of spider crab meat in the market is to separate it from the image of the animal. Just make it into those little plastic tubs full of crab meat. Eventually you'll end up with ignorant people who just don't even have any notion of what animal it comes from in the first place.
