RE: The Jungleland segment @ 15:02--The man working the lion act is Dick McGraw, one of my mentors there. I later took over this act for 3 years until the park closed. I was setting props for this act when Mansfield arrived w/Brody, Mariska, her sister, and Zoltan, the day after Thanksgiving, 1966. They were there for a photo shoot. I saw them enter at the front gate, but was not assigned to the event, and remained working onstage. Then, our manager, Roy Kabat, came running toward the gate with a bloodied child in his arms, followed by Mansfield and her companions. Zoltan was taken to Community Memorial Hospital, in Thousand Oaks, and the news media went wild. The lion first named for the attack was Sammy, formerly featured in the Ron Ely TARZAN series, but the true attacking lion was another movie animal, Brutus. We knew lawsuits would likely shut us down, but she died in that wreck before court filings were realized. We learned Mickey Hargitay had given up all parental rights in their divorce, so there was no one to file claims. Jungleland continued in operation until a foreclosure auction over October 8 & 9, 1969.

It's nice that these readers know the correct facts. Jayne was not decapitated. The funeral director who prepared Jayne for burial, confirmed her body was whole. She was very intelligent, brilliant at learning foreign languages. She made a movie in Germany. There, the director asked Jayne to use English and explained it will be dubbed into German. Jayne told him: "That won't be necessary, I can speak German." Her German was so good that her dialogue wasn't dubbed. Jayne was called a dumb blonde, she wasn't dumb and she wasn't blonde. In Italy she was voted Film Actress of the year. Sophia Loren had won this title the previous two years. Sexy shapely Jayne put Sophia to the sword and dethroned her. This was a popularity contest, rather than an acting award. It shows that Italian men have good eyes and healthy hormones. Her early death was a tragedy. Yet, her memory lives because she was a gorgeous movie Goddess who we can enjoy on DVD.

NOT exactly correct, Jane's head was removed clean off center of the forehead, it's in the autopsy report. That was a very commen injury back large car hoods did not fold up in center of hood, the hood simply rose up on the hinge springs and the impact drove the hood thru the A piller posts and windshields dismembering anyone in the front seats. Rolled up on an accident late one night on I- 75 Florida when a drunk driver drove northbound on the southbound lane hitting a family in a vanad on, the hood of the drunk drivers large car went half way thru the whole car, his head was on the floor in the back seat area. Modern designs mandated a folding hood nack on the late 80's This design changes has saved countless lives.

Jayne Manafield had no father to raise her & guide her in her young life. That in itself was a tragedy. She became promiscuous in wanting attention as their was no father - figure to give her attention. She, unfortunately, used -- misused - her looks to draw attention & ended up pregnant outside of marriage,Statistics prove most of those involved in sexual immorality before marriage end up in divorce. Her second tragedy in life was getting involved with involved w/,Anton Lavay -- a Sartanist of the highest degree. The third tragedy, the vehicle crash ,was a result of the second tragedy -- Satanism. When you play with fire -- you're going to get burned. Beware of the wiles of the devil....

Many children from single parent families work hard to provide the 2 parent family they missed out on and you know what? Single parents can also do a great job without damning their children to a life of sin. She was an adult allegedly very smart woman. Nothing but her own choice to cheat on every man she had.

The only trucks and/or trailers that are exempt from the rule have rear axles at or below 3-feet (modern trucks & trailers often have axles quite far forward the actual rear of the vehicle) from the rear of the trailer, as the axle would prevent a vehicle from sliding under past the axle. It was this accident that prompted the rule. They were originally called Jane Mansfield bars, before the ICC created the regulation when they became ICC bumpers, later adopted by the DOT, hence the current designation of DOT bumper.

Listen to tale is that she was dating Anton LaVey at the same time, that she was dating an attorney that was abusive and was trying to get away from. She supposedly asked Levy to put a hex on him to get him away from her. He in turn told her to stay out of vehicles with this man

The insecticide truck was NOT fogging at the time, so there was NO fog to obscure the semi. There were also no skid marks, not indication of braking, etc. The estimate was that the semi was going about 35-40 MPH and the buick Mansfield was in, hit the truck at 60-80 MPH. She was NOT decapitated, but the top portion of her head was injured, with her wig visible in the car, and bone and brain matter on the rear of the semi.

@@dianakidd4219 I found an article where Nelson Sardelli has apparently said that, while Mariska is his biological daughter, he, Jayne and Mickey agreed at the time that he was content to give up his parental rights to Mickey and he has no current relationship with Mariska. Mariska considers Mickey her father because he's the one who raised her, although she does look a lot like Sardelli

I saw a recent photo of Mariska's eldest child, son August, and he is the spitting image of Mickey. There's NO way Nelson Sardelli is Mariska's biological dad. A DNA test could rule it out, but look at her son and you will see who her real father was; looks can skip a generation.

The reflective striped steel bar on the bottom back of a semi tractor trailer is called the’Mansfield bar’. It is a mandatory reflective bar on all semi trailers to help prevent such tragic accidents from happening as the young driver of Jane Mansfields car could not see the semi tractor trailer and was traveling at a high rate of speed.There were no brake tire marks on the road in efforts made to try stopping the car.

Acting skills were not the highlight of how they became famous. Both were attractive in their own way.

Nov 1965, friends and I rode our bicycles 10mi from San Mateo, CA to South San Francisco to see Jane at the White Front Store Grand Opening. We were 16 at the time and in awe. Unfortunately, I remember saying in the way home "she looked like our Moms". Pretty rough, guess the bottle had gotten the best of her. Surprised to see how young she died.
@davidhenschel19908 ай бұрын
@eddiea1213 What did you mean when you told your friend, “She looked like our Moms”? You say you saw her in November 1965. She had given birth to all the children who survived her. Did this happen during a weekend or on a weekday? I ask because Jayne was a friend of Dorothy Kilgallen. On a Monday afternoon in November 1965, Dorothy’s sudden death was announced on network TV and radio. Did you mention Dorothy to Jayne? Did Jayne mention Dorothy to you or to others at the event while you were in earshot? I suspect the answers are all “No,” but I hope to be thorough before too many decades have passed. Thank you for reading my long message.

@@davidhenschel1990 What he meant was that the drinking and the drugs were taking a toll on her looks; she looked aged by 1965, hence the "mom" comment. It got worse after she hooked up with Sam Brody, who was also abusive, and they had a toxic relationship. That has been documented in different biography shows.

Interesting fact, the young man that was driving the car was a couple of days from getting married to his pregnant girlfriend. Also Mickey absolutely ADORED Jayne. Heart shaped themes ran not only the house but the pool that said in tile at the bottom “I love you Jayne” Mr Humperdinck bought the home from Mickey and kept the heart theme (although he took the I love you Jayne out of the pool bottom)
