Hello Alexander. The 'Faction Function' series is a piece of a gem. It is not only good for the game itself you are presenting but for the whole mindset of strategy that you can apply to every game. I am still an avid Andean Abyss player and I adore what you did for this game. I happily see that you expand it to other games as well. Keep them coming. A fellow from Athens/Greece

At the 22:05 mark where you activate the force in Allegheny Central and move them, you have a slight rules error. This force consisting of just auxiliaries (no drilled troops) is bound by the restrictions in 6.2 on page 7--after passing through one enemy cultivated space, they must stop in the next space. So while the general advice is sound (raid as far in as you can reach first), this force couldn't reach Head of Elk. It would have to stop in Wright's Ferry and then raid. Great video!

Thank you for this wonderful look at a game that has been on my 'not so great' shelf for a long time! Your video has enlightened me to many of the nuances of the game I had not considered ! I look at Wilderness War in a different light now...thanks to your excellent review! I will move it to my 'to play' shelf !!!! Thank you!!

Thanks Alexander. I have this sitting on my shelf of shame and need to play it. I have played Bayonets and Tomahawks and it seems very hard for the French to win in that game. I think that is a good game as well.

Was just about to put this on the table. But I watched your review on Paths of Glory and decided on that one

Amazing game! I bought it after reading on it on your blog, such tension! The history and asymmetry is great! As a french canadian I do love to play the french and be a pain for the british haha!

I just found a first edition copy of this game from 2001. I almost don't want to open it...

Does it get repetitive for the French with such a raid focused strategy? Sure thats not the only thing but still different roads to victory makes it more fun. Is the tournament scenario the way to go?

Have not played this one. I have played Washington's War a few times, which I have heard is similar.

They’re similar in the way that cards function and activations, but the game play is quite different.

For some reason, this game just doesn't appeal to me although I love CDGs, I love the topic and I love Volko Ruhnke. Your video is making me think I should pick it up again
