As a separatist player, I really think one thing that's missing from our faction identity currently is the idea of these cheap mass-produced units. I think we should have the most units on a table at any given time. Like most activations by far. It doesn't really make sense that I can take the same amount of b1s as I can for ewoks, which are kind of better. Honestly, if they wanted to I feel like if they gave the T-Series a Entourage 2 b1s it'd be a lot better

Some of the Empire and Rebel design at least from early on was that the Empire was the faction for dealing out suppression and hurting the opponent's order control while Rebels were the faction that could thrive the most under suppression; I think with time Empire's lost that bit of that 'oppressive' flavor which I'd like to see revisited, but I don't think Rebels ever really stopped being the faction just generally good at not getting bogged down and getting the most out of every little unit till their untimely demise.

I'd love to see some more specialist for Republic like Flametroopers, Riot Troopers, and Aqua Troopers. For the Shadow Collective I would love to see Gammorean Guards. Maybe slow but heavy hitters.

One thing I would like to see is AMG looking at the neutral upgrades. They need to be adjust per faction rather then across the board, it will help factions not get caught by stray bullets.

I feel like they should rename the shadow collective faction to criminal underworld or something else and then keep shadow collective as one of the battle forces. Shadow Collective was specifically Maul’s criminal order so adding people like Hondo and his crew or things from Book of Boba don’t fit with shadow collective. I think to start we should get a second battle force for criminal underworld with Hondo and his crew. We could get the tank they use + Hondo + 3 squads of Weequay pirates + 2 pirate Ewebbs as we see in the clone wars. Then on the side they could sell Turk Falso as another commander, weequay sniper team, update the swoop bikes to come with a weequay optional figure and add Aurra Sing. All of these should also be allowed into the pirates battle force with a flaw card given for Turk Falso. I feel like this would make a solid start to a proper criminal underworld faction and then you could combine shadow collective and hondos crew if you wanted to without needing to follow battle force rules like all the other factions can. I think for the hondos crew battle force (whatever they wanna call it) there should be a lot of independent 1 or 2 but also something like Krennics 1 pip built in to give better order control without losing the independent benefits. We have seen Hondo plan very well to take on much stronger opponents but we have also seen his men and him be tempted by bribes and the endless greed that comes with being pirates. Due to this there should be a flaw card built into the battle force rules as well as a flaw card for Hondo himself to reflect his greedy nature. I think this would make it feel super unique from other battle forces in terms of unique rules.

For Shadow Collective, I would love a melee focused corps or special forces unit. The Son of Dathomir comic had Shadow Collective getting reinforcements in the form of Dathomirian Nightbrothers so that would work. Release a Borther Viscus leader commander that can slot into a unit and Operative Savage Opress as a detachment for SC Maul, Dooku, and Ventress with accommodating command cards that support those 3 like Chewbacca does for Han, Luke, and Leia .

Rebels having to rely on luck doesn't sound like a good strategy, I just looked at the characters for the Rebels and the Empire, they seem similarly priced. What advantage is it exactly the rebels have in this regard?

I think if legion pushes towards larger games the ATAT is unlikely to come, but there's vehicles that could ahow up earlier, like the ATTE its a decent bit smaller and can have some bend in it, so it can fit on tables better, making it a good candidate for the first super unit

a scale AT-AT would be half the size of the table so not gonna happen. i dont think an ATTE is very likely either. I personally dont think super units belong in legion except maybe in special scenarios. Theres just not enough weapons in the game to consistently damage regular vehicles let alone super vehicles. what legion needs the most right now is more narrative scenarios/objectives to make the game more immersive.

In battlefront 2015 there's an entier game mode about infantry destroying ATATs, next, if they are increasing the scale of legion, they can easily make the new large points game increase board size, and that's the mode that it would be realistic to play it in, next, they can shrink model size down by a decent bit to help make it playable, particularly if they just shrink the height, and of course the inclusion of super units would be not a single faction event, the rebels for example might get a Y wing in the same teir

@@calebbarnhouse496 what does battlefront 2015 have to do with legion? nothing... at-at is definitely not happening in legion. legion will be lucky if it even lasts another year or two and doesnt end up like x-wing or armada. its pretty obvious they no longer want to pay for starwars licenses so as soon as legions license expires it likely wont be renewed. legions a dying game theyre not gonna invest tons of money developing an at-at model and other super unit models that theyll only sell relatively few of with their $250+ price tags. theres no logical business sense in that...

@@Khobai lmao your on crack, firstly, if you bothered to read my comment you'd notice the part where I told you that that game had a gamemode where the entier game was taking down an ATAT, with only light vehicles, infantry and heros, a single ATAT isn't unkillable without heavy tanks, next they've confirmed that they are making hard plastic versions of the old minis for legion, that's incredibly expensive unless you are deadicated towards keeping the game alive for a long time that's of course ignoring shatter point also doing well, the problem with x wing and armada was simply that they never wanted to have 4 starwars games in the first place, so they dumped some to keep it manageable, finally, ATAT wouldn't need to cost 250 dollars, the markup on miniature kits is obscene, they could turn a profit off a kit that costs 100 bucks, and they could realistically charge 150 to 175

Seeing some early Empire from Bad Batch would be cool Like Rampart as a commander and a black ops Crosshair as a operative considering crosshair isn't on the Rebels side . For an Empire Commander easily Thrawn. Rebels made him both an admiral and a ground commander so it is possible. Might as well if Rebels gets some other specter ghost characters.

I feel like empire’s unique them should be like an unstoppable force / very good at giving suppressions while avoiding being slowed down / panicked. I think that this could be accomplished by giving more suppression removal to empire like maybe remove 2 instead of 1. In Star Wars media we have seen every other faction run away or be pinned down including clones but we almost never see the empire be pushed back or pinned down only slowed in their advance. Imperial units also shoot a lot in Star Wars media and many lasers fly every time the empire is on screen. Thematically this would be really cool but the problem is Empire doesn’t need a buff really so it might require a deeper rework or maybe you just leave empire as the only faction without a niche (give one to rebels like more command cards per round or something hero focused) and then just allow empire players to have slightly more cost effective units than rebels and republic due to them not having a niche. By effective I don’t always mean cheaper I mean cheaper per output attack wise. This increased unit amount / more dice would become a niche in of itself I feel and would give that sense of an unstoppable force.

CIS player, but looking at the prequel era while watching the clone wars makes me want: Aqua droids with maybe infiltrate? Quarren/mon calamari, or gungans for republic? Hondo, Aura, Sugi, Embo, or other bounty hunters/mercs for the shadow collective, maybe pirates for a corps unit?

I think the prequel factions definitely have defined identities, they obviously could use some balancing work. Like you said, rebels and empire are definitely less differentiated, im hoping the sleeper cell helps make the rebels more of a guerilla faction going forward, maybe we can get an Andor-derived battleforce? Also, another merc battleforce would be ace.

I, too, look forward to when Ahsoka Tano can join the Republic faction. Possible to have two different models and cards. A younger version and can partner well with Skywalker, and an older one where she leads the 332nd company. That would make a pretty cool set actually, the 332nd Company with the older version of Ahsoka as the Commander.

Shadow Collective. Starter box x4 was an easy buy in with out having to pick through units. Hopefully we get some more heroes like Savage or Pre, some new mandos like core or strike teams, get some pirates maybe throw in Hondo (can’t remember if there was a temp alliance or not)

I got into Legion when Shadow Collective was announced, as I enjoyed the Scum units; however, with the release of Mando and Damiyo Boba, that shifted me towards Rebels. I'd love to see something united around Damiyo Boba representing resistances and outer rim guys that are not necessarily Rebel Alliance.

I like adding Gungan warriors, Gungan catapults and Gungan shield generators. Then add Nubian Palace Guards and Flash Speeder. For gameplay and alternative history, Nubians can fight against or with Gungans. You could have factions of 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 1; Separatists and Clones never fight together.

Jango Fett would be an easy add, I’m not really sure why they haven’t even just said that boba fett can be painted as Jango and include Jango command cards in the box with the regular boba fett figure. I would love to get a separate figure for Jango but if they didn’t want to go through the effort this is an easy way. Just design some unique command cards and that’s all you gotta do.

I think leaning into hero play is something that could work nice for Rebels, the main issue with it is being limited to 5-6 command cards, which if every hero unit has 3 each then it will be a real struggle to get max value out of them all. So either new hero units would have to have more attached to their unit cards, or they need more hero synergistic command cards like the Sabine/Ahsoka one and the Chewbacca cards. I could see the associate keyword being used regularly for Rebel heroes, either that or a new keyword that does something similar. To tie into the Mandalorian they could also get a Mandalorian battleforce.

I feel like the Empire's identity should be "cutting edge weapons" which includes vehicles imo. Basically, the Empires troops are professional, but not as elite as Clones. But their edge is that the Empire is a manufacturing juggernaut and can issue tons of heavy weaponry, vehicles and advanced prototypes to the battlefield. We have for example, the best Heavy in the ATST, a flier in the LAAT/LE and we have the first heavy infantry unit in the Dark Troopers. I think if we get more weapon specialists to throw into troops, heavy military vehicles and special units like Dark Troopers (Here is hoping for Imperial Super Commandos from Mandalorian) then it could seal their identity as the 'tech' faction.

Personally I think the factions should be more asymmetrical and each have a more unique feel. Empire: Heavy Armor Gunlines, focus on vehicles and armor rather than standard troopers Rebels: Guerilla Warfare (run and gun), units focus on mobility to mitigate incoming damage CIS: Overwhelming numbers, weapons and abilities arent great on their own but when in large numbers are more effective. GAR: Team work + elites. Focus on synergy between units rather than quantity. Shadow Collective: Similar to rebels but makes use of "tricks" or trap mechanics more so than direct attacks

Rebels should be allowed to play 2 command cards per round and have 12 total. I also think that for rebels their hero’s should be uncapped or raised to 3 commanders and 3 operatives. This would have to be tested for balance and some command cards might have to slightly change or a rule be implemented that you can’t use two command cards that affect the same person or that your 2 command cards have to be the same pip level.

This isn't a complaint. I've just always wondered why the focus on the underworld was Shadow Collective with Pykes and Black Sun rather than, say Jabba's army. Niktos, Weequays and Gammorreans would be amazing. Plus, a skiff would be completely feasible. I'm not knocking the Shadow Collective. It's very cool. I just think Jabba's underworld troops are a missed opportunity in Legion. Anyone else have similar thoughts?

I agree that the CIS and Republic are pretty much good as far as identity I think for the Empire there identity should be strength, for example their units might not be elete like the Republic but they could perhaps offer more shere firepower to emphasize the might of the Empire for the Rebels I think their focus should be maneuverability their not tough or particularly good at shooting but they are able to out maneuver most opposition

They should scrap this edition, scale the size of the game way down and enlarge the x wing models to properly fit. Then, you could field mass troops with at-at's as well as x wing ships and all manner of other things. It would look good and be fun. They already have a skirmish game now with shatterpoint. Make a proper tabletop game!
