Ok so design is difficult sometimes, but the crossed swords on the balance-of-power bar seems to be intentionally placed to hide the most interesting part. I mean, it's the small changes when the game hangs in the balance that are important. Baffling.

I find the swords rather usefull: The crossed swords are helping to determine were the real middle is in the balance of power (bop). The crossed swords are drawing a V in which corner the middle lies. So, when the battle is really close you can see with one look, if the bop is slightly favored to one side, in which case the bar isn't laying in the corner of the V. An other way to achieve this, without blocking any part of the bar, would be to draw a line or an arrow right in the middle of it. But I find the sword solution aesthetical better.

I like it because of that actually, it means that when the battle's joined it's not so easy to tell exactly which way it's going to swing if you're a player. As an observer you can carefully look at it and see, but as a player all you see is the clashing swords which is all you need to see if the fight's still that close.

For a one-eyed guy holding on to a flying dragon, he isn't half bad at reloading a ye olde pistol and shooting accurately with it. I'd support a reduction in the size of zombie gun units though and maybe also a shorter summon duration for summoned gun mobs.

I’d be open to other small Coast nerfs (e.g. bombers), but I honestly think just nerfing Luther’s pistol damage and/or ammo and increasing his cost would go a long way towards balancing the whole faction.

@@Scottmw14 Aye, not sure why Coast ranged units outnumber even Skaven ranged units. Doesn't seem very logical to me. Besides lowering the numbers of Handguns, they also need to nerf Bombers and Luthor's Pistol + Melee shenanigans that can he pull off simultaneously. Then we can also look into buffing the poopy Coast units, like Depth Guard with Halberds.

Maybe but at this point players should be expecting that build and countering it. Once he starts getting countered he’ll start changing his build, afterall there is the saying “don’t fix what ain’t broke”.

@@misterpig7739 The thing is countering this army and its variation isn't really a thing most races can do as they may not have the tools for it. If you want to see Coast lose you pretty much need to have them face dwarf which is the hardcounter or more even-ish match ups like the other undeads, the High elves or the empire but these aren't counters just the races who struggle the less amongs all. Clever army buildings and micro has its limits when your opponent doesn't rout, have high HP pool all accross the board, crazy firepower and on top of it good monsters, summons and mobility to secure the firepower. A firepower that sometimes doesn't needs protection because one compromised unit can get the help of the rest of the gunline.

Problem is that I don't think you can win with other builds playing the coast. I think the options are pretty narrow.

@@markiv2942 It depends, most of the time yes you will end up with similar builds with variations (different artillery, maybe an air squad of deck droppers you got the idea). But you got some really different builds in some MU. Some coast player vs the empire will actually go for a cylostra+crab+etheral rush with some dogs for mobility and a very reduced core of skirmisher (if they take any). So yeah you either got your army where 75% of your VP build is pretty much the same as it use the same core units in various proportions the rest some specialised unit adapted for the match up, or, "surprise" builds. My point in my previous comment was mainly that even if your option in term of playstyle may be narrow it doesn't counterack the fact that if it is a really strong against most races well most will struggle anyway.

Honestly, vampire coast won few very lucky matches against great players that usually do not commit those crucial mistakes. Aero lost his healing powers, magic and lord in the first 2 minutes, and still put out a decent fight. Xyphos forgot about Gibson on Nocti for half match, sucided the waywatchers few seconds later by literally marching them forward their death, and even forgot about few units chasing dead doggos literally few clicks away from the main fight. Coast strengths are many, but there is also less margin for great plays, therefore great players on other races can still outplay their peers on Coast... not this time it seems, but still, I do not see Coast as dominating as it was in past tournaments.

@@PigreKo Agreed, while I myself do think that the Vampirates are a bit too strong and could use some nerfs (to Luthor and bombers mainly), we also have to remember that this was one of the best players (Enticity) in TW:W2 on his best faction and he was having one of his best days in a tournament, the guy was fighting like a man possessed, and he made little to no mistakes while his opponents made some substantial ones. VP is going to look absolutely broken when that happens. It's like when Hadres plays his Skaven or Lotus Moon plays Wood Elves, when you have the best players on their best faction, and they are on fire that day, of course they're going to dominate.

Yet I also think that it was less than ideal to see him win in games with very “casual” blunders in between great moves. Gosh it seems I’m being all snob ahaha

There's definitely something wrong with burning head at the moment. I've noticed this in several games. It doesn't appear to be doing as much damage as it should (or at least not as much as it once did) even with a perfect cast.

I don't think High Elves won a single game in the past half a year or more on Turin's channel. I have also given up on HE on ladder, feel they are at a disadvantage in just about every match up. I hope HE get a slight buff soon so that they are competitive, no need for lots, 5%-10% cost reduction on some of the infantry would probably be enough.

@@Djowan I ran some tests of goblin spearment vs HE spearmen. 300g goblins go even with 500g HE spears, crazy. 3 gobbos (900g) demolish 2 HE spears (1000g). Other infantry is in similar position, simply too cost ineffective.

I think they were at their best with Tyrion+double Phoenix. The value those fuckers could get off was insane, purely from Rebirth and his amulet. Throw in a net mage on a chariot and the rest is archer and spear chaff. Obviously that struggles more and more but I remember how oppressive it felt kicking a high elf's ass only for Tyrion and his Phoenix bois to all go back to full health to rout your infantry and goon your singles.

@@rem9011 In my experience the white lions have consistently shown themselves as outstandingly cost effective when you bring two of them. Obviously a front line of them isn't viable, and I don't think anyone can deny their t1 archers are pure sauce. Where the HE fall apart is martial prowess. Having your spearmen get worse over time when they are designed to grind is horrendous, especially if people start fucking you with plague priest cones or wind blast to strip it before combat.

Hey Turin, great content as always mate. Ever think about doing faction wars on thicc funds, turn it into a round robin like a blood bowl league stretched over a few months. Drop the sub-faction so each player gets a by which would help with unavailable players and/or you could cast replays as part of the stream. Just an idea would let us see all the different match ups but on thicc funds results might not be the expected.

First questions. When they reworked healing and for some time nowadays it affects only 4 units at the maximum. Is there any rule or pattern that the units are? The most expensive, most damaged, single entities have priority or it it adjusted randomly? Second one. What happened with Gobbo king? I remember him from Warhammer I as pernament participant in tournaments, quick battles versus Turin and he had his own channel. When Warhammer II was released he was appearing less and less and disappeared. Turin mentioned once long time ago he had some disputes with KZbin and deleted channel. Does anybody knows more? (I know there is player on competitive scene with similar name but that´s not Gobbo king).

First question: We got the answer on forums from CA Duck at some point. Basicaly think about your stereotypical radar (though he said its a bit more complicated). It checks units closer to the center of the spell while going clockwise, first units detected the first healed. Second one: It's a bit of everything if I remember correctly. He got progressivly borred with youtube and the game while various real life stuff started adding up (work and stuff like that if I remember correctly). Though I'm not the one with the best infos so take it with a grain of salt.

I could watch Aero play play vampire counts all day. Very fun builds, great methodical game play, and a destroyer of boxes. Xiphos against bretonnia is a trap. Rough for those poor knights. Enticity on coast is truly an art. He brought the spooktober to this stream. Really love watching him play. Might as well add Enticity as a dlc Lord to coast with bonus to gunlines.

Such a big mistake in the last game. U can’t outgun VC with WE. The Rush was the call. I think VC are so strong because they are as easy to play as Dwarfs but they have MAGIC (the best in the game).
