Don't put yourself down like that. The things that confuse us have super simple and easy answers, the issue is that sometimes the teacher doesn't explain it in a way that's right for us. So it's not your fault you don't get it, the information just wasn't delivered to you in a way that's specific to you. "Thinkwell"'s videos on youtube may be what you're looking for.

Bcoz of the identity property of multiplication, all multiplication problems have a factor of 1. Like 6 is equal to 6x1. Thats why he put 1.

bc its not multiplied by zero, in front of any number there can be a 1 in front of it. if u multiply it by zero, its gonna be zero

Has nothing to do with the difference of Filipino and American education. Rather, a trinominal has 3 terms, but a polynomial just has more than 1 term.
