Hey I'm the maker of the map (golga, and you got my name perfect). Thanks for doing a tour of it! Yeah I spawned in the concrete because I finished the factory stuff and then decided to tile it and didn't want to build the production for concrete. Also I turned off the autolaunch for the save so that everything back up and you could look at the base at 60 ups. It's not controlled by anything too fancy, there is just a circuit to keep from having a bunch of satellites buffer. Edit: Oh and I focused on follower count because it was the only research that used all seven sciences, and all the outposts were calculated with a specific mining productivity in mind.

I took a BP of the entire base. Not really useful though since trying to place it down even brought my PC to its knees. I would suggest downloading the map and have a look around. It was really cool to see it run, make sure you increase the autosave interval though since it takes a bit to save the map. Less annoying that way :P

My bases almost always end up looking like PCB's. I think it's just the nature of processing efficiency. You feed something in, it gets processed, then fed out, maybe gets fed back in to be further processed somewhere else, rinse and repeat. Belt bus bases always end up looking like circuitboards, in my experience.
