I understand this quite well, the only I don’t get is when factorising you put a plus or minus in the bracket but how do you know which way does it go e.g. plus and minus or minus and plus or does it not matter which way. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

How do u know to subtract or add the multiples tho cause on the 1st one u added and on the rest u subtracted. Like the first one could've been (x-2) (x-5) and the 5 and 2 would make 7. But u done (x+2) (x+5)

what is the difference between factorise and solve? because when i was revising the question asked me to solve by factorising

Factorising means putting it into brackets. Solve means find out what the unknown (usually x) is.

(X-9) (X+10) ANS Since we are looking for a number which when multiplied gives you -90 and when added + 1 Always write down all the possible multiplications in order from 1... Eg 1×90 2×45 3×30 5×18 6×15 9×10 Then view your data, you will realize 10× -9 is -90 And at the same time -9 + 10 is +1 From Somalia ✋
