It could be as simple as following. 1. Take constant term factors in plus-minus as {1,2,3,6}. 2. The 6 of term 6x is made up from 1+2+3=6 , i.e. {1,2,3} 3. Multiplying 1*2*3 = 6 4. So the factors could be (y+1)(y+2)(y+3)
