You’re very welcome! I’m glad this still helps people out after all these years. I also have a video on how to add factory cruise control to these Jeeps, too.

actually trying to do the opposite and installing the factory radio, getting rid of the aftermarket one. Does that ground on the factory radio simply need to be tied into the chassis?
@thomasjtsi Жыл бұрын
The ground lead came from the factory wiring bundle. Should be there still… even with an aftermarket radio install. But yes, that is simply a chassis DC ground connection.

Have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with a factory Jeep 56002467(1991) AM/FM Cassette Player and swapped out the tape modules in two 2467 cases. Now I have me some rocking tunes. Now what I need to know is what is the cause of either the left or right channel going out on a 2467 and on a 56009004(1992) the volume knob is maxed out but still need just a little bit more volume.

@ Honestly I don’t recall. It was a very basic, aged at the time, stereo. It has since been upgraded to a better unit.

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport , will mine have the female ground wire aswell ? And I ordered a wiring harness off amazon , will that harness come with a ground wire , and also will I have to go buy a male groundwire connector and put it on the ground wire?
@thomasjtsi4 жыл бұрын
Nate Dogg The harness will not have a ground wire on it. You have to wire the black ground wire from the aftermarket stereo harness directly to the female plug I disconnected from the back of the factory stereo. It does ease installation if you put a male connector on the black ground wire coming from the aftermarket stereo harness... you don’t have to, though. You can cut the ground female plug off and attach those two wires together for your ground.

Great video. Easy and to the point. Were you required to do any soldering? Also, what mounting system did you use? Thanks!
@thomasjtsi5 жыл бұрын
M C Didn’t require any soldering. It was a setup from eBay that included the dash kit & wiring harness.

@@thomasjtsi Do you need the wire harness or just the mount? And use the existing wires in car?
@thomasjtsi5 жыл бұрын
M C The dash kit is what mounts the new stereo into the dash. The wiring harness wires to the new stereo wiring and plugs into the factory harness.

Hey, can you purchase a ready made custom wiring harness or do you have to build it yourself
@thomasjtsi6 күн бұрын
@@ronnie32567 What do you mean by “build it yourself?” The stereo you buy has a harness that plugs into it. You get a harness that plugs into the factory plug that comes from the vehicle. You wire those two together.
@ronnie325676 күн бұрын
@@thomasjtsiI guess what I mean is where can you get the harness that plugs into the factory wiring and the radio plug, I can’t find one.
@thomasjtsi6 күн бұрын
@ They’re all over eBay, Amazon, etc. Hell, you can get them at AutoZone or Walmart too. I just did a quick Google AND Amazon search… boom. One listed after another.
@ronnie325676 күн бұрын
@@thomasjtsiwhen I said built it yourself I mean do you have to connect the wires with connectors, I was under the impression that you bought a complete made up connection, I saw the plugs to plug into the factory plugs, just couldn’t find a premade connector I’ve got it straight now
