This is very interesting. I think after this video and your previous, I'm going to have to work some of these into my upcoming reloading work. I like to tinker with new things. I'm getting supplies today to build up my 3rd work bench in my house, but this will give me some more space to film some inside videos about my own reloading journey! It's so cool learning about all the precision and how variable affect things. I'll be listening to the rest of this while I'm working on things today! Have a good week dude!!

Thank you, and same to you! It’s been super fun getting to test them and visit the facility, and I’ve brought them into my reloading rotation for anything closer-ish in where I don’t want the chance of ricochet’s haha

@The Reloading Craft Yea, I'm lucky my place gives me the space so I've not "needed" to use frangible projectiles, but I'll give them a try someday anyway. Just got all my materials, gonna start cutting them down, then go out and shoot a little before dark!! Benefits to Mondays off work 🤣! Have a good day dude!

Amazing stuff!! I was impressed with all of the factory floor shots - everything was clean, well labeled, and properly stored. As someone who has worked in both high tech and low tech manufacturing settings, it looks like they are doing it the right way at SinterFire!

I would tend to agree! The work environment seemed good and the floor seemed to run efficiently!

I'd like to see reloading this stuff for 5.56. What kind of hurdles does the added volume cause?

We could explore that! In my testing so far the volume difference is minimal (takes a case volume approx. similar to between a 62-68gr FMJ equivalent

What accuracy can I expect with .224 SinterFire bullets in .223 REM if my gun easily makes 0.5 MOA with good factory ammo? Is there a limitation for an effective range (accuracy wise) for a .224 SinterFire bullet? Why does SinterFire not offer their Frangible bullets on larger calibers (.308 and over)?

For accuracy I’m pretty sure it will be rifle dependent, and you’d have to test that way. The frangible projectiles are indeed offered in .308 diameter, all the way up to 50 BMG although I don’t think the 50’s are standard production runs. The 308’s are if I remember correctly.

Do we have any data on barrel wear with SinterFire bullets on .223 REM and 9x19 Para? How does SinterFire make a cannelure on .224 bullet?

They claim reduced wear on 9 and 223 Rem, though I’m not familiar with how they tested it. For the 223 Rem, the cannelure is turned into the finished projectile via automated lathe.
