So, Jon complains of wagons driving off road, when the roads have only one lane, and they need to avoid colissions. Also, first seven comments I saw said "play Factorio". Well, maybe if I watch to the end of more videos, Jon will say he'll play Mount and Blade Warband. Think that's right up his alley.

I love how the wagons intuitively dodge and get out of the way and find their way back to the path. I expected them to get frustratingly stuck at first but was pleasantly surprised 😌

I highly recommend checking out the game Kingdoms & Castles. Very similar city building kind of game. If you do make a video on it I recommend waiting till the next update cause it’ll add things like AI players

factorio is quite chill and relaxing. until pollution triggers an alien attack while you are in the middle of trying to fix the latest problem that you saw and wanted to immediately fix, while pushing back the problems you were trying to fix earlier that you also thought you need to immediately fix. and then you handle the attack, fix anything damaged and forget everything you were trying to solve, and proceed to go make a new problem. it's so chaotic during the learning curve but it's what kept me playing for hundreds of hours.

In a way factorio is simpler than this. In factorio you have so few base resources everything is either insert raw materials into smelter or work with iron or copper plates. This allows you to set up one big initial work zone for mass smelting and then just work from there. Here you have specific base resources that go from a to b and you have to manage money, food, base resources like wood and stone, coal, etc. You cant just go "shove all that stuff here and then worry about where it needs to go next."

What's interesting is that the road and Chute system reminds me of the concept of Arcologie. Frank Lloyd Wright imagined a city built in layers where the actual living space was devoid of Commercial and Industrial being seen. It was built underneath. He came up with the idea cause he hated the idea of cities becoming nothing but roads. Imagine having only a 10 minute commute by elevator and Trams or "Gasp!!" walking.

Having played myself i have to agree. The limitations in Flexibility and uneffective UI get rather annyoing later. Especially the whole building menu. It makes you realise, what an absolute brilliant thought through masterpiece Factorios UI is. Hope the get some more Inspiration from it.

This got me thinking: in the future when everything is automated, the bottleneck won't be in production but rather in selling. So I think there will be a big industry trying to create entities that humans can sell stuff to, maybe art or food. Like how in a videogame you can walk up to shopkeeper and drop off loads of loot to make money.

Jon isn't patient enough for Factorio. Also, he'd get all kinds of horrible comments on how bad he is at playing it. I think he'd absolutely love it, but maybe just in his own time.... I don't think it'd be good as a single video. Series... maybe. I'd personally love to see how a whole Factorio run would go with a Jon spin! Even a mini-series.
