I say to myself, when the wise men are gone, I will make my wisdom out of my present ...and tremble, saying I want to break my existence to escape from the prison of my promises...I feel like walking on a soft depression of words inside the hall...

Since comments are allowed, which is amazing. 3:12 - Ancient Indian civilisation was much scientific in every aspect, until it was invaded, looted and raped, again, and again. Still, it stands shining amongst the many; orthogonal, to any "material" aspect of "prosperity" whatsoever. May we learn the delicate art, of balance. Harmony will naturally ensue.

Very nice video. Two issues they have discussed. One is humility and other is problem of screen time in a digital world. They raised the issue of humility among people and that everyone should be in a state of humility as far as information is concerned and that they can be wrong so they should be humble. In my humble view ,we are making a mistake by humility as a compulsory element of personality of everyone within a society because we should keep in mind that every profession requires different minds status to show their optimum performance within their professions. We should not expect humility from a politician, soldier, lawyer and any other knowledge practitioners because humility doesn't support passion within any professional practitioner practices and if a practitioner in a given knowledge field start thinking of possibility of being wrong, trust me, their minds can't perform optimum. Remember we have two knowledge operators within a given knowledge field, one is knowledge generators and other is it's practitioner and both require different state of mind to perform at their peak. Other issue is screen time in a digital world. This objection has no grounding because our brain or mind basic functioning is data processing and thinking is it's basic quality so if we stop using phones, our minds are still thinking so phones provide us company and some sort of information. As far as our reactionary comments are concerned, it's natural but very fast in a digital world as compared to old non digital world. Regards

Humility and honesty can be measured by the adhesive between the corporate logos and the speakers. Money and fame is invisible in this pomp.

Does Edwin Hubble's discovery of the expansion of the universe need to be delineated from Saul's and Brian's discovery of its acceleration?
Ай бұрын
Edwin Hubble s discovery pinpointed expansion of universe but can t decide changes in expansion itself, Saul s and Brian s discovery is key point - they found that expansion from certain point accelerates, in fact we live in deSitter spacetime which was just one (and at that time not favorable) possibility.

Did he just curse at 10:12 in the Nobel Prize channel and got away with it? The Nobel committee has really become too chill. Interesting...

A structure of power that concentrates too much power in the hands of too few people is contrary to humility or intelligence in decision making. We can build a digital platform for global collective democracy.

Very curious what that looks like in practice as well as what our journey there may look like @johnkintree763. Sounds potentially beautiful.
