When you work with homeless people, you're eyes are opened....there are many, many people like this man, who are just ordinary people, who fell on hard times, and of course, without help, their lives go from bad to worse. So great that things fell into place for this man, and now he has what we all take for granted.
@annemariestaudenmann9456 жыл бұрын
Yes! I worked in a homeless shelter for several years, and it really opened my eyes. I learned to be more understanding , compassionate and not so judgemental. Everyone in a shelter has a story to tell. It's important to listen. It was one of the best and most challenging jobs I ever had. Although now it's been many years since I worked there, I'm very glad and thankful for that experience
@marywilliams70556 жыл бұрын
Mortthemoose When you become homeless, it opens your eyes to how cruel the majority of people are in this world! I am also disabled and use an electric wheelchair and most people go past me like I am invisible. Other times they just stare or they make fun of me. I have been VERY Blessed in my life and now I have seen the other side of things. It makes me want to help others more than ever! The shelters are bad places for children and the disabled. There are SO many druggies, child predators, thieves, prostitutes and liars in the shelters. Most of the people that run them are not very nice either. For the safety of everyone, I have told them they need to do some type of background check before they let child molesters, abusers, and violent people in them and put others at risk!I finally got on Section 8 last week and found a house on Friday. I am just waiting for the paperwork to go through. I will never forget this experience! I do my best to be an advocate for those who are screwed over. They hate honest people like me who want to make the wrongs right. Sad fact, but It's true!
@Mortthemoose6 жыл бұрын
Mary Williams Oh, that's great that you've got a place of your own. Congratulations! I'm the other way around. I live in a council house, but I too am disabled and very ill, and don't manage at all. I don't get enough money to pay someone to come and help me, so I live in a filthy house that basically has stuff all over the floors because I'm not well enough to cope. Like you say, few people want to know when you are ill, disabled and/or homeless. I've come sooo close to being homeless so many times too. Sending my thoughts to you.

"Homeless man mugs good Samaritan who gave him a coat on NYC sidewalk" now this is an inspiring story. Shocking surveillance video shows a good Samaritan getting walloped on a Midtown sidewalk Wednesday morning after he gives a homeless man his coat.The twisted turn of events began when the 59-year-old victim tried to help Xavier Israel, 25, who was lying on a sidewalk in front of 476 5th Ave. at about 8:40 a.m., according to sources.Moments after the victim gently covers Israel with his jacket, Israel shoots to his feet and appears to push the man to the ground before snatching the wallet from his back pants pocket, according to footage obtained by The Post.The victim tries in vain to retrieve his wallet, but the suspect punches him and throws him back to the ground, the video shows.Israel fled the scene but was arrested a short time later on West 41st St. and 5th Ave., sources said.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭I was so touch it was 😢 of joy😭😭😭 I have help a young man he was homeless to and i helped him get his CDL and he pasted it . He save his money and got his own place. And he constantly thank me he is doing so good he have 2 cars now and he wanted to give me his other car. I told him no i did not do it for that and it felt good to know he appreciates what i did. And he always thanking me i told him it was god almighty he chose you for me that is why i started crying because it feels good to get at least 1 person of the street to achieve your dreams.😊 Everybody is not on drugs but sometimes fear gets in the way to believe their is no god . Your angles is you all when god give you the signal to help someone fear never in the way . The spirit that is inside you guides you and the right state of mind to help .Sometimes god send you constantly to a homeless person to ask for your help without you even knowing you are the angle god sent . We all have a job from god things happened constantly for a reason from your test of god. Stay safe and blessed so if you see someone and it feels good to approach them see whats going on because your gut never lies. Your friend😇
