Thank you! It turned out well for one of my first boards. I’ve learned a lot since then. Still one of my favorite designs.

Great video, love the handle jig. I have a performax that I run my edge grain boards through as I don’t have a router planer jig. Thanks for sharing!

That’s awesome! I just started using my drum sander more and it’s really helped with efficiency. Thanks for watching!

I just found your channel and subscribe. I hope you make more quilt type cutting boards there exceptionally extraordinary! You have gone beyond the norm with yours and I really really hope to see more.

Thanks! I have a few more designs I’ve finished and I just need to get the videos out. I also have an instagram where I post some progress pictures if you want to check it out @fireflywoodworking. I’ll always post full length videos here on KZbin though since I really want to share my process so others can make them too. So happy that you’ve joined the channel!

Hey thanks! Super fun and pretty easy end grain board to make. I’ve made a bunch in this design because clients seem to love it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment.

Beautiful board. You do nice work. I’m impressed that you keep your work space so clean. Maybe that will inspire me to do some cleaning in my own shop

Thank you! Keeping the shop clean is a constant battle but with the dogs (and cats) visiting the shop I always worry they will get into something. More boards and projects to come.

I agree with the others very nice design. But I really like you sled. Can you tell me if there was someone on youtube you got the idea from. I take it the on piece that we see the screws on can be removed to use with a Dado set.
@FireflyWoodworking2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes I got the design from Kings Fine Woodworking. I think they make the BEST sleds and jigs. This one has removable pieces (plates)so you can always make a zero clearance sled. I label all of my table saw blades with a number and each plate with a number or corresponding dado size. I’ve even used a plate to set angles with my saw blade so I can do small pieces. It’s so versatile!

Did you come up with jig to route handles?
@FireflyWoodworking Жыл бұрын
Yes. I modeled it after a mortising jig. I keep meaning to make another one and film the build process because I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else using anything like it. Most people use a router table, which I don’t have. Let me know if that’s a short video you’d want to see.

Great vid! (Except for irritating music-but you guys all think you have to have that. I just turn it down and hope I don’t miss any commentary.)

It wasn’t easy when I first started making videos, trying to decide how to do voice overs and/or music. There really aren’t great woodworking specific tutorials. Since my first few vids, I’ve learned to focus on shop sounds and helpful tips, but we all start somewhere. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and some helpful feedback!

Nice job. I just cringed hard when i saw how long your hair is...next to that spinning blade on the jointer.. You've got to be more careful. 😬
