I use the EC4 with virtualdj, it does a lot of different jobs some cases it's a single vst surface other cases it's multiple vsts in one group, some cases it's a video fx controller, other times it controls the on screen mixer, the 2.0 FW update has made it a bit better for mapping, but it still is quite complicated. sysex setup/grouping change is cool, and the save & recall function is good One thing I would wish for is dynamic text as a value [over sysex], the dial might be absolute or relative but I can do stuff with vdj's script language and I might want to output a value of "1/16" or something like that. Faderfox CEO is a nice guy too :)

firmware 2.0 brings quite a lot of fixes and improvements. I use it with Bitwig by means of DrivenByMoss Generic Flexi script and there no limitations of channels at all. Also it is programmed once. Would be good to see how particularly you programmed you plugins. Which parameters is better to use. How you use the push commands.
