Another reason that setting sprays are an easy/appealing release for brands is that it is a product that most people go through, and have to repurchase at least a couple of times per year. This is in contrast to a palette that few will ever buy more than once.

My experience with halara is that 1/3 of the items I purchased were any good. One of the pants I bought felt like a cheap tent. Then the returns process was a NIGHTMARE so I didn't end up actually doing it. Hope they have improved in the last year but I'll never be shopping from them again.

Angie, those Sweet Tart candies are pure nostalgia. It's a custom in the US for children to give/receive them from classmates on Valentine’s Day in primary school. They have little, flirty sayings on them that can be cute "pickup" lines like, "Kiss Me" and "Hugs." The flavor is secondary to the message. They actually make dirty versions of Sweet tarts for grown ups... and they're freaking hilarious.

Bath and body works has a variety of scents that are not sweet or sugary. They actually have a good range of scents. They are also doing scents inspired by perfumes with body care that you can layer with perfumes to make your scents last longer.

Anyone remember Robert Welsh's video a couple of months or so ago about a brand who would be releasing a setting spray soon? He didn't disclose who the brand were, but the colours and "hey beauty!" way of talking just screamed Tarte.... I recommend people watch his video if they haven't already. The brand were telling influencers to mislead consumers in the way they were instructed to use and advertise the product. Not subtly either, directly.

The return on Halara products and the shipping time makes Halara just not worth the effort. I’m glad that they’re supporting influencers and the pieces always look adorable on Angelica. I think the benefit for a company like MCo Beauty is that they are cruelty-free and vegan, and I think a lot of the products they dupe are from brands that test on animals. So this gives folks a cruelty free option for those types of products! 😊

Bath and Body Works has had some AWESOME limited edition scents over the years: like Crisp Mint Leaf hand soap a few years ago that was SO green and refreshing. Or a lemon tea candle that was also just so refreshing and bright. Sadly those mint and tea and other crisp, bright, lovely scents never seem to stay or rarely return if at all 🥹

Hahaha MCoBeauty thinks they’re going to charge 38 dollars for their CT flawless filter primer dupe, and 18 bucks for their lip glosses, 29 bucks for their highlighter wands, 24 bucks for their blush sticks??? Wet and wild needs multichrome/color shifts in neutral colors so people feel comfortable buying it. One swipe color is still big. They need pinks, lilacs, browns, beiges, yellows, vanilla, white, rose.. and gloss is huge so they need shifts in that. Micro glitter or shimmer. Ps . Brands are catering to PRETEENS AND TEENS. That generation is huge on skincare/healthy hair/pretty packaging/scents/glosses/blush. If they do eyeshadow its one swipe color. With a pop of highlighter here and there. They like skin tints with spf in it. So you will see more skincare incorperated into makeup.

I was talking to my friend a few weeks ago about how this is definitely going to be the year Setting Spray, body care products and candles and Brands elevating their products like Bath and Body Works. Sweet Tarts are very popular and nostalgic in the US. I love the grape and pink sweet tarte candy but not in body products for myself The One Size setting spray is amazing and deserves all the virality in my opinion. I’ve been seeing new settings spray’s by every single brand in every price point. I love Jamie Genevieve I have watched her for so many years! I love the products I own from Vieve! They are great! I think it is very smart to move into skin care, body care, and candles in her signature sent! It’s definitely a sentence that is my type of fragrance that I love on myself and in my home and office. Candles bring me so much comfort and happiness! Your thoughts and opinions on Morphe Morphe Morphe are exactly the same way I feel! I’m not rooting for them but I’m interested in seeing their journey. I did buy a few products last year that I really enjoy. I have been waiting for one of my other favorite content creators to use these new brushes! I watched Cheryl from MakeupByCheryl and I have to be honest with you and everyone the powder puffs, the sponges and brushes that Cheryl used are completely not what I expected out of Morphe! They have some pretty innovative puffs and brushes. I have to say that. If you want to really see what they have created it’s a great video to watch. She also features the new YSL blushes in that video. I loved your perspective on Multichromes! The Indi beauty community has been amazing formulas and will out beat any of the Indi multi-chromes and those special glitter ✨ shades but with that being said it’s exciting to see a big brand like Wet n Wild create their own version of multi-chromes and special glitter shades that consumers that don’t follow the makeup industry or that don’t see things on social media. My mom is the perfect example of this. She is in her early 60’s and is still trendy and loves wearing a glitter on her eyes so I’m excited that so many different people will get to experience these formulas. I might try one or two. Oh I couldn’t AGREE more with you about MCo Beauty! They don’t do “inspired by another product” which I’m okay with that to a point. This brand is a copy and paste brand in my opinion and I will not buy anything from them. It leaves a very bad taste and impression in my opinion. The reason I also stopped using Makeup Revolution back in the day was because they were doing the same copy and paste products. I’m a little surprised that Target decided to pick up this brand but again a consumer that doesn’t follow makeup brands or follow the news on makeup will absolutely purchase from MCoBeauty. I would absolutely love a video of you comparing a lot of the more recent palettes against each other! You could even do the different groups based on color stories. And it would be cool if you did it as a regular video maybe every 4-6 months. You don't have to go into crazy detail, amd you could only do the ones you have already done swatches and such of, so hopefully it wouldn't be something that would take a ton of extra work to do. It would just be really great information to help us avoid buying palettes that are too similar in color stories, and to know which ones you think are the best within each similar color story. I watched a little mini documentary/interview about the owner of MCoBeauty., and she really just rubs me the wrong way. Like she has absolutely no shame about how they go about blatantly copying other brands. And I get that in certain countries they are somewhat popular because they are one of the only semi affordable brand that is widely available in their stores that is putting out products that are very similar to amazing products that they don't really have access to like we do in the US. In that type of market, I can understand the appeal. But unless they start making their own innovative products, I think they are making a mistake in trying to expand into the US.

If it helps to explain it too… In Aus MCO Very regularly gave 40% or 50% of sales. I don’t know anyone that actually pays full price for their products. Once on sale, they are very much cheaper than our ‘drugstore’ alternatives.
