Faewild - Indie/Pop/Folk Music

This probably isn't going to make much sense, but this is one of my most ambitious songs. So many layers, so much recording. I record my voice all the time to make little pseudo-choirs, but never to this extent. For the first time in 10 years, I used my voice in a way that's actually audible.
I made a short video of me recording vocals and accordion for my patrons that I titled Welcome to 2010, because that's what the song is supposed to sound like. I really had to stop myself from adding a bunch of group-shout Heys everywhere, but other than that, I think I got pretty close to that lively indie-pop with maybe a little dash of folk.

Thank you very much! I had so much fun with the drums, there's actually 3 individual drum sets. One playing the regular beat and cymbals and two others that are just filling out the beat with toms all the way through :)

Hey this is really fun. Can you talk a little about your process of writing the song? :) And in your opinion, what is the most difficult part of writing music?

Hey, thanks! This one was a bit messy. I started writing it months ago, and it never really took shape. I wrote it originally for piano and flute as I normally do, but then I added in accordion, and it just slowly moved toward a more up-beat pop tune. Eventually I just leaned into it and added all the brass, vocals and percussion. I rewrote this song so many times, it's kind of surprising I actually settled on a sound and released it!

Oh, I didn't answer the edit, so here goes! The most difficult part is starting from scratch, as soon as I've got a section that I think works the rest usually falls into place, but opening that blank project on a Monday morning can be daunting.
