一騎主体で見ると、「神の力を得て、自らを全能の神と思いあがった少年が、自分の子供にそれを否定され、人間に戻り子供から大人へと至る物語」とも取れるんですよね、だからこそマークアレス、全能。そしてそれを倒したのは生まれ変わったマークニヒト、否定をつかさどるモノという。 親とこの対決っていうとシン・エヴァを彷彿させるけど、あっちがより直接的に「親を乗り越え大人になる少年」と考えると、シンジと一騎で立ち位置は逆でも向かう未来は同じというところが面白いと感じる。

結局のところザルヴァートル化は一期のザインを参考にすると、 １. ファフナーのコアとクロッシング ２. コアに存在の方向性を与える ３. 周りの存在を手当たり次第に同化して機体を再構築する って感じなのかね。 ニヒトはイドゥンに同化されて、更にザインに同化封印されてた影響でザルヴァートル化。 レゾンはアトランティスもといマレスペロのゴルディアス結晶内で修復された影響でザルヴァートル化。 …レゾンはまぁ分かるけど、ニヒトはちょっと無理がある、か？

It's just a typical mecha anime where most humans was assimilated by a golden alien race and humanity have to "use the enemy power to kill them and sacrifice their life during the process". by the way, since these mecha are powered by the aliens core, most pilots are assimilated (killed) after 1 year (could be less) so...... Pretty much an one-side war. Joke a side, it's a good anime and i highly recommend it. It's more brutal than any gundam

Actually the author really ship these two. Like really really ship these two. In the novel Kazuki is actually always thinking about maya. The anime clearly show how Kazuki care for maya, but novel emphasize that even more. In fact in the novel for Kazuki maya is the light that he had no choice to give up the moment he fell into the dark sea.

He experience painful things in the past about the accident with soushi's eyes, during the time Kazuki and soushi apart, reconcile, separate again for 2 years, reunite, going to journey during exodus maya is always there for Kazuki. For Kazuki her existence itself teach him the meaning of life. Of course all his friends is important, but for Kazuki, Maya is someone he can never afford to lose. The him in the past before the war start, maya knows him the best including all his fear. And about his life, he's fine now. Because he accept the blessing of the island. Kazuki going to see the world with Koyou, and he come back home once a year. Beside maya herself, have deep connection with NEO UN, so there would be times that maya left the island for diplomatic mission anyway. Kazuki will always return to the place where Maya is.
