Liverpool’s DNA is made up of all these different people, great people. Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan, Ronnie Moran, Reuben Bennett, Roy Evans, Kenny Dalglish, Houllier, Rafa & Jurgen. - Numerous great players, far too many to mention. - The fans, the staff, the people. The blood, sweat, tears and joy of these people are in the soil on the Anfield pitch. I feel part of that DNA also. *Our Blessed 96,* YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE!

Lisa's husband , Andy here. I am a Barnsley fan and as a kid I had the honour of getting the autograph and chatting for a few minutes with Mr. Fagan at an FA cup match in 1985. He gave me several minutes chatting, signed my programme and I was in awe. As a twelve year old getting the autographs of the European champions except Grobelaar (he wouldn't sign!) made up for our 4-0 defeat (I think) :) They don't make heroes and gentlemen in football like that nowadays. ❤

His warmth and good sense of humour shine out just from the small interview clips. Good managers make you want to run through walls for them, I'm half tempted to now and that was just by watching him in this video.

There’s a man you never hear media talk about when they line up the great managers a treble in his first year . If he had managed any other club he would be legendary but it was Liverpool gov & media are no friends of the MIGHTY REDS.

people like him are the reason why it means more at LFC it wasn't just a game but a way of life where you trusted your own game and backed your teammates 100 per cent and you gave respect to the other side enough to think they can be beaten because we played harder and smarter whilst outmatching they energy

For me I’ve grown up in the most successful time of Liverpool football history and I’ve been everywhere with the club and I’ve seen Bob and Shanks and then Joe came in and for me he has been very underestimated as a manager but what i felt for him was after the Hysel incident i felt so bad for him he just didn’t deserve that but what a great man he was and always will be

After 44+ years of supporting LFC, I have seen the ups, the downs, and the second coming. Many clubs would give an arm, a leg to have a ‘’smoking Joe’’ in their ranks and we had Him. Smoking Joe and the boot room made LFC what it is for all ages..... the love and admiration for Joe will never end.
