I think he may be too big for her, it would've worked out but I don't think he could figure out a way to reach in the moment and it pissed him off.. Idk if you've been successful since but you may wanna try to pair them with different dragons that are similar in size.. I've seen people say the female should be slightly bigger than the male that way they can take what we perceive as violence a little more.. Usually the female can walk around with the male still latched on until he goes for the lock

I think I was on the right track. I'm new to this so I'm learning as I go. It looked like the female was showing signs on submission and I could have possibly let them go longer. It can be a bit of an aggressive breeding session and I was a little too scared of her getting hurt.
