As a private unarmed security professional, this is the content I recommend watching! This is what is useful and actually works! My training background: spear (Tony blaurs system) , Krav Maga and a mix of military based combat styles. This content is true reality based martial arts!

This is really good stuff. After reading Geoff's book at 16 in 1992, and then working the doors full time from 18 to 29 in very rough places. This is the reality, this is what works, this is what you need to know, (at least you did back then). A self defence class is not going to cut it. The psychological aspects are greater than the physical, it takes relatively little effort to knock someone out. To not freeze take far more mental training. This takes me back to a better time, which would probably sound messed up to most.

First video if seen with these guy's! I've been a professional bouncer since I left the force's just over 25 year's ago. I used to do a bit boxing. But now train MMA. I haven't seen this particular drill before. But I gurentee I will be practicing it tomorrow morning, at training. After many hundreds of fights over my years as a bouncer, private security and military career. I know this is a situation that happens very regularly. And this looks to be a very good and fast follow up. I will be watching more video's in the future.

@@stevenrichardson9880 I have been a bouncer for over 27 year's, in some very nasty club's. I have also worked in other areas of security. So yes I have had many hundreds of fights! I'm not saying I won them all, but I have had them. I have worked in some of the worst venue's in the UK, where they fight every night. In many venue's they don't involve the police, it's just let the DS deal with it. That way there is no report to the licensing board. So in many places we have to fight, or lose your job.
@securemindsetofficial3 жыл бұрын
As a fellow security officer, I can confirm this especially at the doors.... Hundreds of fights over the years to me is a understatement if you are in a bad Area. In my short Career of 6 years now I've been at least well over the 200's of fights and altrictions because I work at a shit ton of event and bad areas. So no this is not a understatement. Also this is the content I as a professional recommend! It comes well in my training in spear, Krav Maga and combined military self Defence systems.

I think lee has certainly hit on a formula that most people could grasp reasonably quickly. It’s surprising how fast you can get an open hand moving after a bit of practice. The best thing about his technique is that you can practice most of this stuff on your own as opposed to more complicated techniques you need an opponent for. As for lee’s speed that may take a bit of time. Awesome stuff.

Excellent training. Serious question though- you get your hand slapped down & roll with it like you demonstrate; why not target the brachial with a ridge hand? In my experience, much higher probability of a one shot stop, your hand is going to the same general area anyway. Not sharpshooting, would appreciate hearing any opinion on this, there may be a reason not to do it that I'm overlooking. Again, great content.

I had to use the fence today after an altercation at the gym, the guy came forward and touched my lead fence hand about 4/5 times(with his chest not his hand)but I could sense he wasn't ever going to actually strike or do anything but I still kept him at bay.... in the end he ended up apologising and we actually had a chat about life for about 20 mins after and he even said he was waiting for me to throw first... had I done so I would have escalated the situation and possibly hurt him bad, but I used my sixth sense and prevented a lot of possible aggro!..... so hitting after just one warning is not always a good option, every situation is different but I think it comes down to how good you are at quickly assessing a person and their actual intentions, sometimes its just a lot of bark and no bite

Good info on the video...........however, I personally NEVER teach people to closefist punch in a street attack. Palm strike works just as well and negates injury to small finger bones that might be needed later to escape, open car doors, use improv weapons etc
@699669king4 жыл бұрын
Good points. But is it not true fingers sticking out in conflict can also be sprained , strained,jammed or even broken? I have seen and experienced this myself.I would be quite surprised if you have never seen this. In fact if I see fingers not closed I would see them as a potential target. " Defanging the snake" as it is often called in some styles.
@stevenrichardson98804 жыл бұрын
@@699669king I was taught and now teach a forward palm strike (palm forward of the slightly bent and slightly squeezed fingers), neither a tight palm or loose, somewhere in between to hep prevent (as much as possible) injury. I see a finger I am gonna bite it off, especially the trigger finger :) But I would rather have finger/grip dexterity than a swollen fist.
@novrahadi85684 жыл бұрын
Use the tiger claw instead, claw strike on the face is better than palm strike, and do not cut your finger nails, then you will have a very dangerous weapon for close combat. The injury on the opponent's eyes can be severe, you have to be careful not injure anybody.
@stevenrichardson98804 жыл бұрын
@@novrahadi8568 oh yeah just gonna walk about with my fingernails and inch long to use the tiger claw, sounds like a master ken move.
@novrahadi85684 жыл бұрын
@@stevenrichardson9880 you can test this method in bar fight, full power claw strike to the face produces the impact from palm heel and severe injury on the eyes. The opponent will back down, the result of the attack is more devastating than the use of punch, and tiger claw will keep your hands in a good condition, it is unlike using the fist that will break your hand.

Geoff Thompson's 2 touch rule: First touch you push him and attempt to negotiate or loop hole or "submit" so the fight never begins. The 'second touch's is actually the (genuine) first "fuck off" touch. Meaning if the opponent continues to not back off or walk away or he didn't get his ego fix, the second touch of the fence you push him back and as Thompson would say "create a gap" and then begin to posture Posturing will end the fight most likely. But then at the third attempt at the fence you preempt and strike.
