In the jeep forums, everyone says to just pull the rad hoses. Don’t even bother with the petcock. There also an o ring in there you have to worry about too.

I’ve read that too, but wanted to recover some coolant and not make a huge mess

I bought an airlift coolant vacuum tool for my car and it was the best tool investment yet. Fills the coolant in a few minutes and zero issues with air in the system. Porsche can be a pita to get all the air out of the system with its rear engine/front rad design

What are they worth ?

@@BackCountryWrenching my kit was maybe $250 but you can get cheaper kits under 100. It’s the cats ass for filling coolant

Engineer Johnny strikes again with the stopcock. I elevate the front end about 4 inches to make the radiator cap opening the highest point to the atmosphere and drink a beer while burping my system since I’m lazy. Wouldn’t mind having a vacuum system to fill my system, but I’m too cheap to buy one. That matching sterio screen and instrument cluster is freaking cool!

I should just do that as well and make life easier

Yes. I spray it inside the tube and on the neck. The hose still sticks but usually breaks free with a twist. I picked that trick up from a snowmobile mechanic. He used it on the carb boots.

I'm going to have to change out the heater hoses on my wife's JK next month .They are becoming swelled . Should be a lot of fun since the heater core ends are buried half under the cowl . I do have the set of pliers for the spring clamp so that should help. Thank you for the like on IG the other day its much apricated Jerry .Great video again and I will catch you on the next one. Pets to Ms. Carmen from me please.

23:23 Our Wrangler does that too, if I flip it over to auto, then it corrects its self and we can use the controls to change the modes.

I use silicone spray on coolant hoses. Helps with install and makes removal years down the road simple.

Works good for even removal ? I’ll have to keep that in mind

Hey Jerry. I have a question that I can't seem to find anyone with any idea. When my trucks temp is at normal operating temp (200 degrees F) I can literally hold my hand on the rad cap. The cap does not get hot at all. Now I'm no mechanic but I do know that's not right. Any ideas? I'm thinking bad cap but again I'm no mechanic.

First thing I do with those heathen hose clamps is throw them away with the old rad hose. Get new stainless clamps with new hose.
