the fact that she was 300 pounds at 11 is so beyond messed up and for that reason i feel awful for her. that's not a personal choice. regardless of what she chose, the fact that her parents allowed that to happen clearly made her who she is today. childhood obesity is no joke.

While yes it's terrible that she went through that at a young age, this doesn't mean she shouldn't take accountability for her own actions. She's living on her own now and the only thing stopping her from losing weight is herself.
@perperperpen Жыл бұрын
@qwq of course she should, but it really just depends how you view life. i feel bad for drug addicts. they may have chose to do drugs, but to say they can just choose to stop isnt really true. its just sad that one or a few bad decisions can really destroy someones life. similarly, she made a lot of bad decisions to end up here, but for someone like you to stay skinny is actually literally easier than it is for her to *get* skinny. it would be like if i asked you to lose more than half your weight (not exactly the same, but you know what i mean). just being skinny doesnt mean you understand the tremendous work and effort that it would take for an obese person to get to that point. and to tie that to the addict comparison, it would be like a sober person believing that it's as easy for them to continue being sober as it is for an addict to drop their addiction. but those things are worlds apart.
@Dhjsjdhfh Жыл бұрын
@@perperperpen I've never said it was the same to stay skinny as to lose hundreds of pounds. I acknowledge the amount of hard work and discipline that takes. However, unless you're struggling from other health conditions making it impossible for you to lose weight, it is most definitely a choice that only yourself could commit to. Quitting any addiction is extremely hard, but for most people, the only person stopping them is themselves.
@perperperpen Жыл бұрын
@qwq i mean technically true, yes, but to imply that overcoming internal struggles is always simple or easy would just be dead wrong. the fact that the only thing stopping themselves is themself doesnt actually necessarily make it any easier for that to happen. and in both cases theres the obvious physical element. intense physical distress is also standing in their way. in the case of addiction, horrible withdrawals, and in the case of weight loss, having to maintain a calorie deficit for possible years while also consistently working out, this takes a significant toll on the body.

it depends on what you mean by "hard". All you have to do is just not eat that much, if you have no discipline then maybe its hard, but I don't see it. It is both cheaper and healthier and you really only have to do it for 2 month and it will be a habit for you. If you stop eating sugar then you won't crave it anymore. The issue of obesity is incredibly complex, but a huge and central factor is satiability and portion control.

I weighed like 250 then got down to 170 in about 4 months. I was then alerted of the dangers losing weight too quickly can have, so I aimed to get back up to 190 and have stayed there since. Losing weight is a matter of willpower, those that lack it will not get results until they power through. You have to be vigilant. It’s a lifestyle change more than anything. Start with a healthy diet and eat below your needed amount of calories. Focus on that before you even worry about exercise. Drink only water, and lots of it. Also avoid sugary or over fattening foods. Whenever you establish a diet just start slow with the exercises, it’s a marathon not a sprint. If you’re consistent you’ll lose the weight. Don’t get obsessed with the scale though, obsess with the way you feel and keep pushing. You can do it I promise.

12:30 I used to stuggle alot with binge eating. YES. It's insanely expensive. I realized that when I started keto (which is expensive) I was actually SAVING money compared to when I was just doing whatever the hell I wanted. When I binge ate I was always eating out. Back in 2019. Just for lunch, I would have two large combo meals. A triple cheeseburger, and a asiago chicken club. Then a large chocolate frosty. Sometimes an extra chicken club. So by myself just for lunch I would eat: 2-3 sandwiches, two large fries, two large drinks, and a large chocolate frosty. Every day. That was 30+ dollars every day. That's not even counting the stuff I would take home for dinner. It's a miracle I didn't go over 320 lbs. I didn't save any money and was living paycheck to paycheck. For anyone struggling with binge eating, keto is god-tier. You're never hungry and sometimes you struggle to meet your daily caloric needs. I lost 16lbs in a month when I first started. I wasn't even exercising.

Me personally losing a little over 100lbs I can say that consistency & diet is the #1 thing for weight loss. It doesn’t matter if you’re only exercising a little bit each day over time the results will show, you just need to have a positive mindset the entire time and set small goals to reach your final goal so you don’t get discouraged and give up on the way. It may seem like you’re not making much progress at first but it’s the consistency over a long period of time that will end up working. Ofc you could go to the gym and go ham but a lot of people when you’re that big deal with high anxiety so the gym is pretty hard to do sometimes for some people which is why I say a good diet and a little bit of exercise each day will help as long as you’re doing it consistently. Just don’t lose that motivation!!!

It's like what happened with Adele. The obese fans were outraged that she became healthy, which is actually funny. And what does this tell us? Those "friends" were just with these women to make themselves look better and have less "competition". I hope to be the first human to make 1000 but I fear that whatever tapeworm infects him may also infect me. We do a lot of the same things, sitting in chairs and endlessly watching KZbin videos. Pray for me fam I hope to achieve half of what I'm capable of but I'm afraid to dream.

I lost 40kgs (88 lbs) in 5 months. When depression hit, thanks to junk food I reached about 100kgs (220lbs), but then one day after a breakup I took a decision, started jogging every morning at 6am, barely ate anything, starved like crazy (not healthy I know), lost the first 30 kgs (66 lbs) in only 3 months! Now I basically look like xQc, weight 59 kgs (130 lbs), my body's fully adjusted to the new norm of low daily calories, I eat the same as when I was rapidly loosing weight, but I don't starve, it's just normal. I still jog regularly, at least 3-4 times a week, and I'm very cautious not to relapse back to old eating habits. Sugar and bread - out of my life! You can do it champs! Believe in yourself and everything's possible! 🔥
@tiena6630 Жыл бұрын
I mean... I'm happy you're happy, but god damn does that sound unhealthy af. You admit starving was unhealthy, but then you brag how much weight you lost doing it... Losing 30 kg in 3 months is waaaay too fast. From what I understand, most people should aim to lose about 2kg of fat per month (unless we're talking extreme/morbid obesity) and you lost 5x more. Now, I have no idea how much of that was water weight, but even if you take that into consideration, it still wouldn't account for the difference. Mind you, I'm not a dietitian, but everything you described sounds like extreme weight loss and that is not only unhealthy, but also unsustainable. If you want to live your life without sugar and bread, that's fine. You do you. However, those foods shouldn't be demonized and are completely fine to consume in moderation. Most people couldn't sustain what you're planning to do long-term or would be miserable doing it. Maybe you'll be different. I wish you the best, but I would hope that you will prioritize your health more in the future.
@kasabov5747 Жыл бұрын
@@tiena6630 I lost the kgs more than a year ago at this point, and I'm still keeping at 59kgs, tho I'm being very strict about my diet and regular jogging sessions early in the morning. I completely agree, my case is absolutely bonkers unhealthy, and I don't recommend anyone going as extreme as I did, the reason I described my experience is to say to people that it's possible to change, you just have to keep at it!

UK health service is going bankrupt giving weight loss surgery. Socialised healthcare has a huge problem where delusional patients believe their health problems are not their problems, when they can just go to doctor and demand they fix them for free. It has massive drawbacks and it all comes out of everyone's taxes.

As someone who struggles with ED (although undiagnosed) she is my worst nightmare. ED (on both sides of the spectrum so to speak) is so hard to deal with. You deal with food every day, it’s literally for survival. So to go from a toxic relationship with food to a healthy one is so so so hard. I do hope she find it within herself to reach a healthy relationship with food.

@campfireofdreams758 Жыл бұрын
Many people simply misunderstand dieting. Yeah, eating clean all the time might be good to cut off extra few % of body fat. But you do that usually at the end of the journey, when you have more knowledge about food, what to actually eat to meet your maintenance. Not just random veggies throughout the day. You can eat whatever you want as long as you passed 3rd grade in elementary school and can actually calculate calories. You need to be like 100-200 calories under your maintenance to lose weight, that's it. Let's say you weight 250 pounds and your maintenance is 3500 calories. You should eat 3400 for about 2 weeks, go down to 3350 for another 2 weeks and then at the end of the month check your new maintenance and repeat (new maint: 3430 for example) That's just simple thermodynamics. But then again, there are tons of people that believe metabolism and genetics to be a magical being that actually has any say in your weight gain/loss. (Metabolism is easily changed by the food you eat/ exercise. Genetics can alter your metabolism up to 5% at best)

I told myself I needed to get into more fitness again (foremost because I have a puppy that'll weight +60lbs in probably a few weeks/months and I need some muscles lol) but that really got me hyped to do something tomorrow/later (3am here :D). That poor girl. But being at 2xx lbs with 11 is brutal. I guess her parents aren't on the healthy side either otherwise she would have been at a better weight/healthies lifestyle. But what most people don't understand is that it's not just doing some diet for a few weeks/months/years but to actually change your lifestyle. You can "never" get back to eating too much junkfood or too much for a longer period of time because (of course) you will gain weight again. The hardest part is to stay disciplined. You need to stay at a certain intake (overall, if you bingeeat once or twice it won't be that bad xD). So best way to change is to start in eating healthier and less junk. Try to switch out soda for water, sweets for some vegetables or fruit. Change eating 6 times junkfood to only 2 times per week. You don't need to change everything drastically from the start, it's fine if you start slow. Sure, it will take longer but it's still better than changing nothing! :) Important: Don't starve! You should never feel hungry. Even with fitness. Only going for some light walk is better than just sitting inside. You can't do certain exercises? That's fine. Start somewhere else, use extra help, etc. Just starting somewhere is great! I started out with only doing the easier variations of exercises. xD Also we need to remember, that especially for woman daily weighing can be "bad" mentally wise. Just because of hormones it can seem you gained weigh or stayed the same when in reality you lost fat, but it's just a bad day of the month. So don't get unmotivated! :) I (since I never really tried to lose weight and just tried to get fitter and did it for my mental health) only measured with a measuring tape and never used a scale to determine if I lost fat. :) I stayed roughly the same weight but I clearly lost fat since muscles started to show and my numbers went down. I never really changed my diet too much since I already ate/eat pretty good. I just cut down my sugar intake. Less chocolate. I switched that out for (unsweetened) tea. Everytime I craved something sweet I drank a few sips of water or tea. Also try to get a friend involved if it's hard to stay focused. Doing stuff together will help a lot and will make it easier to start on bad days. :) Aaaand if you are really trying and you don't lose anything, get checked out by a doctor! Some illness will result in more weight. A friend of mine was diagnosed with PCO. She ate nearly nothing but gained weight. After her pregnancy her hormones were fixed and she dropped weight like crazy! :) Same with hypothyroidism for example. It'll make everything harder. So get yourself checked. :)

i mean not everyone who goes to the gym does it professionally. simply eating 300 calories under you bodies maintenance value will mean you will lose weight in the dozens if you keep it up. If you also wanna exerize that will just speed that process up a lot and keep you under the threshold even if you eat a little more

This is gonna sound stupid but I used to weigh 240lbs at 6 foot even and was fat, and the best thing I ever learned was intermittent fasting. Get used to only eating one meal a day and that meal can be literally whatever you want. It works so well and I was able to make a habit out of it, so I usually start my day with a pice of fruit (banana or apple) and a protein shake then eat nothing until dinner and can go binge out on McDonalds or pizza or whatever. It’s so stupid simple but it works.
